A DIVINE TREASURE PREPARED FOR YOU AND ME
“The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, but the earth He has given to the sons of men.” Psalm 115:16 (to memorize)
According to Article 716 of the French Civil Code: “The ownership of a treasure found in someone else’s land is split equally between the finder and the landowner.”
Although the Lord created the earth, the treasures it contains are not counted among His heavenly treasures. This is because, in a certain way, the Lord has entrusted the earth to humanity, even though He remains its true owner. Therefore, the precious stones, metals, oil, and all other types of treasures within the earth belong to those who discover them.
As a result, someone can be rich in gold, diamonds, silver, and other resources without being connected to God or knowing Him. The presence of worldly wealth in a person’s life, even that of a billionaire, is not a sign of the Lord’s approval.
At one point, Asaph lamented over this situation, but the Lord quickly reminded him not to envy the treasures of the wicked.
Do not be troubled when you see unbelievers, wicked people, or the ungodly possessing the wealth and treasures of the earth. For God has, for a time, entrusted the earth and its resources to humanity. However, God has a treasure reserved exclusively for His children. He has prepared it for you and me, so that beyond earthly treasures, His sons and daughters may be distinguished by a treasure that cannot be stolen, rusted, or destroyed. This treasure is found in the depths of God’s domain; it is a treasure that will bring divine favor and true blessings into your life.
Certainly, your earthly nature tends to draw you toward the material and tangible things of this world. But know that God’s treasure holds far greater value and impact. Discover and seize God’s treasure now!
Let us pray together:
Oh Father, help me keep my eyes fixed on Your treasures. They are worth infinitely more than anything this world can offer.
Amen.
