Progress is initiated and charted from within because thoughts are agents of change. E.W. Kenyon exhorts, “make your brain to work. It will sweat; but make it work. It will improve. It will develop until you become a wonder to those around you.” That is the way forward.

Thoughts are mental reactors that motivate human activity. Often, stagnation and indolence are offshoots of an idle mind.

Thinking is the only way by which man can trace or retrace his path to dignity and honour. Men remain lost in life until they start thinking. Bishop Oyedepo says: “we don’t cry for a change, we think through for a change! I wish that all the ‘praying throughs’ that people do were appropriately changed to ‘thinking throughs’. Then, we would have been through long ago!”

Every translation a man experiences in life springs from inspiration, which is a product of mental activity. A man’s thoughts therefore determine his lot in life; the depth of his thoughts determines the value of his destiny.

Richard Murphy puts it this way, “The oak sleeps in the acorn, the giant sequoia tree sleeps in its tiny seed, the bird waits in the egg: and God waits for His unfolding in man.” You will always gravitate to that which you secretly most love. You will meet in life the exact reproduction of your own thoughts.

There is no chance, coincidence, or accident in a word ruled by law and Divine Order. You will rise as high as your dominant aspiration and you will descend to the level of your concept of yourself. The quality of one’s thoughts determines the results he gets in every area of life.” That is to say, the deeper the thoughts, the higher the achievements. Those who think well live well, for as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. (Proverbs 23:7).

THINK AND CONTROL YOUR LIFE

It takes qualitative thinking to maintain a firm grip on life. Even the subject of faith cannot be divorced from thinking. From scriptures, it is clearly understood that great men and women of faith are great thinkers.

For instance, the woman who was healed of 12 years issue of blood said in her heart, “If I may but touch the hem of His garment, I shall be made whole.” She thought through before she pressed through and when she told Jesus what she had done, He said to her, “Thy faith has made thee whole.” (Mark 5:25-34). Deep thinking causes faith to produce much more….
