BEING CONNECTED TO GIVE BIRTH TO THE RAIN.
Our strength is not in numbers; our strength is Jesus Christ. Our strength is not in the multitude but in communion with God. Our strength is not in human encouragement and praise but in prayer and intimacy with Christ. Our strength is found in the One we seek in secret. Our strength is in the One we encounter in secret, who produces results in public.
You will never bring forth rain in public if you have not sought it in the Secret Place. You will receive nothing in public if you have not received it in the Secret Place. You will birth nothing in public if you have not sought anything in the Secret Place.
The Lord expects us to have a life of secret prayer. He has things to tell us in secret. He has instructions to give us in the Secret Place, but He does not find us there. And since we are distracted and busy, like Ahab, we will not hear the sound of the rain even when it is about to arrive!
You complain about the absence of rain, yet it is you who do not have ears to hear it coming, because you are disconnected from the One who sends the rain. And if the spiritual ears are disconnected, the mouth that should announce what the ears have heard will also be disconnected.
If that is the case, how will you announce what you have not heard? And how will you hear if you have not gone into intimacy with God in the Secret Place?
When we pray, we must be able to feel the presence of God when we are truly and genuinely anchored and hidden in His presence. We become aware of God and lose awareness of the presence of men. This is intimacy with God.
The lack of a life of secret prayer prevents access to this intimacy. A Christian who has no intimacy with God speaks like any other person. He expresses himself like a pagan. He speaks like Ahab. That is why he misses divine instructions and seasons. Your life is delayed because of the rains you have missed. But rain can only fall if it is announced. And if your life is dry, it is because you lack substance, as you have not heard the rain coming. Yet, all it would have taken was closing your ears to the noise of the outside world and retreating into the Secret Place to listen to God.
The rain was already there when Elijah’s servant went to scan the sky for the seventh time (1 Kings 18:43-44). Elijah simply gave birth to it through fervent and persistent prayer. Elijah was not waiting for the rain but for the manifestation of God’s glory! Elijah, the Prophet, believed in the downpour before the rain arrived.
In the same way, big fish are caught in deep waters, not on the surface. Praise God before the miracle!
Your adversaries know they cannot block God—He is All-Powerful. They know they cannot destroy the Word because God watches over His Word. So they will start trying to block you in your prayers.
When you pray with fervor and power, you create spiritual damage capable of influencing the environment and sparking revivals. And Satan wants to stop such a prayer! Here’s how he operates: He starts making you pray in sin, in distraction, in doubt, and reducing your spiritual territory!
A clear directive then: Do not get distracted, continue in prayer without losing focus, and reach the level of contemplating God until your spirit convinces you that it has encountered and seen Jesus Christ! You will receive the revelation of God! Only a life hidden in Jesus Christ allows this!
