Beware of False Dimensions.
True seers are increasing rapidly and will continue to emerge in this new era of prophetic movement. Unfortunately, with the rise of the true prophetic, we will always see counterfeit prophetic operations. Indeed, false seers are gaining ground even as most of the church is largely unaware or has not yet fully embraced the dimensions of seers.
A false seer is one who sets out to deceive, releasing false dreams and visions, according to The Seer’s Dictionary. This sad reality of a rise of false seers is scriptural. Jesus explained how this works in Matthew 13:24-30 in the parable of the wheat and the tares:
“The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.’”
The tares are like weeds in the prophetic garden. Most gardeners would pull out the weeds, but Jesus gives us contrary instructions. He says not to uproot them prematurely as it could kill the wheat. This is because it can be difficult to distinguish the tares from the wheat until they bear fruit, so to speak. Naturally, mature tares stand tall and proud. Wheat bows. False seers, by correlation, walk in pride. True seers bow before Christ, the Seer.
The Bible repeatedly warned against false prophets. Since seers are prophets, lovers of truth must consider the rise of false seers in this hour. When Jesus warned us against false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing with the intent to devour (see Matthew 7:15), false seers are included in this exhortation.
When He said that false prophets would rise and deceive many (see Matthew 24:11), false seers are part of this uprising. When He said false prophets would rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive (see Matthew 24:24), false seers are part of this group.
Jesus is the Gate
The setup to counter the rise of true seers is insidious. The enemy has been working to tarnish the reputation of true seers for decades. For example, it is no coincidence that mediums, witches, and other people on the dark side freely use the term “seer,” as if they invented it. The truth is that God used the term thousands and thousands of years ago, and the dark side has hijacked it.
While the perversion and abuse of biblical terms like “seer” should not deter sincere believers from expressing scriptural terminology to describe a gift, it should alert us that some even some claiming Jesus as their Lord—are illegally entering seer dimensions.
Let me put it another way: there is only one gate through which we enter the seer dimension. Jesus is that Gate. The blood of Jesus opens the way for believers to enter seer dimensions, and even to enter the holy place (see Hebrews 10:19). The veil to the seer dimensions was lifted by our faith in Christ and His sacrifice on the cross (see Hebrews 10:20). Just as we have access by one Spirit to the Father, we have access to the seer dimensions through Him (see Ephesians 2:18).
Jesus gave prophets (and thus seers) to the church (see Ephesians 4:11). Jesus did not give mediums, witches, diviners, black magicians, sorcerers, and other purveyors of spiritual wickedness to the church. On the contrary, God warns us against them. In fact, God uses dramatic terms to express His disdain for those who illegally enter the seer dimensions and those who choose to turn to the dark side instead of leaning into Him. Exodus 22:18 states:
“You shall not permit a sorceress to live.” And Leviticus 20:27 assures: “A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them.” And Leviticus 19:31 tells us: “Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.”
Jesus gives seers to the church, and the Holy Spirit distributes prophetic gifts, which include the ability to see into the seer dimensions, to believers individually as He wills. This means that any believer can see whatever the Holy Spirit chooses to show them. The key phrase here is “whatever the Holy Spirit chooses.”
Witches, warlocks, false seers, charlatans, necromancers, mediums, and other can include or not include the name of Jesus among their cornucopia of gods, but make no mistake: they do not submit their gift to our heavenly Father and do not receive their visual revelations from Jehovah. Instead, they move into seer dimensions at the invitation of dark forces.
A true seer can become a false seer. I do not believe true seers begin with the intent of turning to the dark side, but a lack of knowledge of the Word, a lack of intimacy, the pressure of outsiders to prophesy from what they see, a love of money, poor character development, striving, and so on, can lead them to believe a lie—to think they…
