CREATE AND MAINTAIN AN ENVIRONMENT OF HAPPINESS.
God is love. In creating the world and mankind, He wanted to extend to all humans the happiness He enjoyed in His relationship with His Son before the foundation of the world. It is therefore important to create an environment where the happiness received from God can be extended to other members of the household.
It is essential to ensure that no root of bitterness takes hold and infects many in the family. Thus, it is necessary to be intentional in one’s actions so that the daily life of the couple is transformed into a permanent honeymoon.
In communal life, love is so fragile, while the instincts of desire are so strong. Marriage is not a foregone conclusion, even if you may have intense feelings. It requires hard work from all parties involved to maintain an environment of happiness and joy. Life’s difficulties, weariness, and habits reveal both the fragility of love and its utmost necessity. Love is indispensable! The couple must therefore humble themselves under the mighty hand of God and daily ask God for love.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” Acts 16:31
This response from Paul and Silas to the Philippian jailer aptly summarizes the situation. The jailer applied it well to himself, ensuring that the Word of God was proclaimed to his family and that both he and his household were baptized. Your salvation and that of your family depend on your faith (an expression of love and trust in God) and the love you have for the other family members.
When you have experienced the love of God, you cannot help but share it with others, and you will naturally seek the well-being of all. Have you already known and experienced God’s love? Then do as the Philippian jailer did: pray to God for your family, expose all its members to the Word of God. Heal the wounds of those who have been hurt by your behavior, and set free those you have imprisoned in your heart (ask for forgiveness and forgive). Live in the newness of life.
Often in our homes, we experience moments of fear, anxiety, low self-esteem, etc. Yet, love is the remedy for all. The salvation of your family is within your reach. The happiness and longevity of your married life depend on you, according to Romans 12:18. Each person within the couple must earnestly seek the wisdom from above to build a happy, peaceful, and prosperous home.
A home that makes Christ its honored guest and family worship its way of life. A family that prays together has the grace to enjoy Divine accompaniment and to see love and the fear of God grow, attracting multiple blessings from the Lord…
