Dear Wife, It’s Now Your Turn To Fuel His “Private Space” Oxygen!
• Encourage your husband to have time for himself.
Whether it’s with himself, his family, or his friends, grant him these moments without you. He will come back refreshed like never before to better reconnect with you.
• Make yourself available to share his favorite activities moments.
Your husband will be delighted to know that you want to share some of his favorite activities together with him. Exercise together, go to the stadium together, play video games together, have your prayer and retreat times together.
• Maintain a peaceful atmosphere in your home.
Your husband needs tranquility. To avoid encouraging him to shut himself off excessively, make sure that the ambient atmosphere is not deemed hostile so that he does not feel compelled to retreat into his cave.
“The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.” Proverbs 14:1
• Refuse to be a possessive jealous person.
Develop trust in your husband. He needs it, especially from you. Give him permission to explore certain horizons alone before coming back to take you on the journey together.
• Show patience.
Give your husband time to come out of his private space when he goes there. The goal is not for him to linger there, but do not hastily give in to impatience and frustration. Encourage him to open up without aggressing or cornering him. Let him come to you.
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” Ephesians 4:2
