Discerning Naomi.
If we delve deeper, what does Naomi represent? Naomi is that person whom God brings into your life to be a channel of blessings. By your side, she has a mission, stated or unstated. She’s certainly not someone who strokes your ego or coddles you… but know that the Lord strategically positioned her in your environment to propel you forward in the corridor of your destiny.
Like a mentor or a coach, she exhibits a certain maturity, divine wisdom, dedication, and above all, an attachment to the one true God and Jesus Christ. She doesn’t often come with a striking appearance and doesn’t claim the role of coach in your life, yet her words and her actions enlighten you, challenge you, and stretch you. These days, many people think they can make it on their own, and they believe it. However, the wise God allows none of us to live in isolation. In Proverbs 18:21, the wise one says, “He who keeps to himself seeks his own desires, he rebels against all reason.” And he adds in Ecclesiastes 4:9, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.”
Alongside this category, there are also those who are too quick to place themselves under covers that aren’t there. Beloved, as I mentioned earlier, Naomi is a person whom God sends; she must be discerned and recognized.
I pray that God grants you the grace to recognize and value her as it was for Ruth and Naomi, for Esther and Mordecai, for Elisha and Elijah, for Timothy and Paul, and so forth.
“Naomi will save you time, a lot of time.”
This year, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Impact Centre Chrétien, but we didn’t get there by chance. It was during a conference at Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) that the Lord placed in my husband’s heart the burden to start a work. Before launching into it, with his brother Apostle Yves, they approached Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo to honor him and seek his covering. He then took us under his wing, but not only him, his wife too. Pastor Yemisi welcomed our husbands as sons and us, their wives (Pastor Habi and I), as daughters. She stretched us, advised us. She was a mother to us. We are who we are because this woman opened her arms to us. She was our Naomi. When we met her, we had no idea what this relationship would become, but we simply valued the opportunity that God was giving us. I will always thank God for her life and for the time he saved us through this divine connection.
