Enhancing Your Steps To Mental Development.

Let me start by drawing a line between learning and schooling; between training and education. Schooling is not equal to learning; otherwise, every first class graduate should excel in life. But I have noticed a paradox. In many professions today, third class graduates employ first class graduates!

When you are given a certificate after school, it is only to show to the world that you have passed through the school, in most cases, that is not what will put food on your table. Of course, schooling gives you access to learning, because you are given the privilege of getting information, which can enhance your mental performance and accelerate the release of your creative abilities. But the truth is this, learning is an endless process. While schooling follows and stops with a calendar, learning continues for life.

The reason many people become obsolete and irrelevant in their field of practice is because after they left school, they did not continue learning. That is why it is widely said that when you stop learning, you start dying, because your mind stops developing.

Schooling provides you with the basic raw materials you need to start off in life, it is now up to you to increase and enlarge your scope through continuous learning.

Learning entails personal efforts to acquire more knowledge. This is lacking in most people today, because they rely on the information they get from the public rather than embarking on personal learning adventures. Just keep developing yourself through a learning program that will move doctors and professors to listen to your highly resourceful lectures.

If you must develop your mind, you must embark on personal adventures in learning. Most of what I know today has no connection with a formal education programme; it is a product of personal input.

The pastor of the largest church in the world today, Dr. David Yonggi Cho did not even go through a secondary school. He dropped out after his first year in school, due to poverty but today, he has a university in America whose professors he interviews personally for employment. When he speaks, professionals listen and take notes, because he is a deep learner. He has such powerful insight in medical science, especially in neurology. That was how he got an understanding of what it means to think of a bright future for yourself and from that, he wrote a book titled, ‘The Fourth Dimension’

In Matthew 11:28; Jesus said: Come and learn of Me.

So Christianity is a call to learning, because it is through learning that we develop and enhance our minds to be able to grasp what the Spirit of God reveals to us in Scriptures…
