Everything Operates According to Laws, Including the Human Body
Everything in the universe is undeniably the work of creation. Some things have been created by humans, and everything else has been created by God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him, all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made.” John 1:1-3
Among the many things God created is the human being, who is truly a spirit living in a body and possessing a soul.
“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Just as every device requires regular maintenance to function optimally, the human body needs regular and ongoing maintenance to perform at its best.
Among the various maintenance tasks the human body needs, one of the most important is optimizing blood circulation throughout the body to supply all organs and cells with vital elements. A malfunction in the distribution of vital elements to different organs can not only cause numerous health problems but can also lead to death.
The organ responsible for blood distribution throughout the body is called the heart. It is a muscle that pumps blood through vessels and veins to irrigate the entire body. Since the heart is a muscle, it needs regular stimulation to avoid atrophy and loss of strength. Instead, it needs constant exercise to increase its blood distribution capacity.
The faster the blood circulates, the better the body functions. A person with rapid and regular blood circulation is always full of energy and vitality, which enhances productivity and well-being. This is not the case for someone with slow or irregular blood circulation, who will always feel tired and uncomfortable. To have a strong and muscular heart, the Creator intended for us to regularly engage in aerobic sports such as walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, etc.
These physical exercises stimulate the body by increasing the heart rate they provoke. This acceleration of the heart rate is an opportunity for the heart to exercise and build muscle. The more the heart has chances to build muscle, the stronger it becomes. This strength enables it to pump blood more effectively.
The day I understood how the human body works, I no longer needed encouragement to exercise daily. I committed to making it a top priority. Even when I travel, I always ensure that my sports clothes and shoes are in my luggage…
