Those who were full hire themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry are hungry no more. She who was barren has borne seven children, but she who has had many sons pines away.” 1 Samuel 2:5

God is the ultimate history changer. He moves people from grass to grace, from shame to honor, from mockery to miracle, and from insult to performance. In 1 Samuel 2:7-8, the Bible declares:

The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; on them he has set the world.”

God can move an individual from mockery to miracle. He did it for Sarah, Hannah, and Jabez. He can move a family from mockery to miracle. He did it in the households of Zechariah and Elizabeth as well as with Obed-Edom. God can also move a nation from mockery to miracle. He did it for Israel when He brought them out of 430 years of bondage and slavery in Egypt, and when He delivered Hezekiah and the people of Judah from the invasion and mockery of Sennacherib, the king of Assyria. Beloved, whatever situation is causing people to mock you now, the God of miracles will bring you out of that unpleasant situation into abundant miracles, in the name of Jesus.

Nothing is impossible with God. No case is too late or too severe for Him to remedy. He is the unchanging changer and the reverser of the irreversible. Hannah’s story is a powerful testimony that Jehovah is the wonderful history changer who moves His people from mockery to miracle and from insult to performance. Hannah’s co-wife, Peninnah, hated her and mocked her. The reason was that while Peninnah had children, God had closed Hannah’s womb. The Bible says:

Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her. This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the Lord, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat.” (1 Samuel 1:6-7)

Beloved, Hannah did not die barren or as a subject of ridicule. God intervened on her behalf. Have faith in God and call upon Him today. He will move you from mockery to miracle, in the name of Jesus.

Those who mocked you will celebrate God’s goodness in your life, in the name of Jesus.
