GOD IS LOOKING FOR A MAN.
God’s will is for believers (Christians) to intercede. Intercession is God’s will; that is why God is looking for a man.
“I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.“ Ezekiel 22:30
To “stand in the gap” is a biblical expression meaning to stand before God specifically to intercede. The intercessor stands in the gap before the Lord to plead on behalf of the guilty. In this case, every social class was guilty before the Lord.
God could not find a man willing to intercede before Him. God is not looking for new methods or programs, but He is still seeking someone who will stand in the gap—a person who can make a difference, who can intercede. God’s desire is to see a man in the gap. Not two, but one man. That man is you, the one reading this book!
In your family, in your church, God needs a person—an intercessor. Our God is looking for a man through whom He will manifest Himself in his family, in his church, etc.
We must understand that it is not by chance that God has placed us in this family, next to our friend, and in this church. Let us not be dominated by selfishness. God’s desire, His will, is that we think of others in our prayers.
The man God is looking for must be conscious, driven, and led by the Holy Spirit. It is crucial to constantly stand in the gap for one’s family, church, etc., because this facilitates the action of the Holy Spirit, thereby counteracting the devil’s work, as he seeks at all costs to destroy our families.
If we do God’s will by interceding, the Holy Spirit will move in our families, churches, etc. We will witness the impact of God’s power.
God needs you to save an entire people (your family, etc.). God is looking for someone to carry the burden—one person can change the life of their family, their country, through intercession. You who are reading this book, God needs you to save someone in your family, church, etc.
Four things to remember:
1) God is looking for a man to build up a wall.
If even one person had been found to intercede powerfully for Jerusalem and stand in the gap, God would not have destroyed the city.
The one who stands in the gap is an intercessor. In other words, God is looking for an intercessor. The prayer of an intercessor prevents destruction in his family, church, etc. An intercessor builds a wall through prayer—a wall symbolizing protection and blessing.
When an intercessor rises, enemies become ineffective in your family, church, etc. Your family and church will be protected and blessed. If you want God’s protection and blessing in your family, church, etc., pray and intercede.
The man God is looking for is you, the one reading this book now. Intercede for your family, church, etc. Our intercessions can build a wall in our families, churches, etc. Through your intercession, the devil and his agents will be unable to enter your home, your church, to operate.
2) He stands in the gap.
Standing in the gap means taking action, getting to work, being ready to intercede. The man God is looking for must be active. He does not waste time criticizing but intercedes. He is ready to intercede at any moment, whenever necessary.
I want to encourage you and tell you that God wants to see you in action, playing your role as an intercessor.
When Peter was targeted to be sifted like wheat, Jesus did not wait—He prayed for him. It was only after His intercession, after securing victory through prayer, that He informed Peter. Jesus revealed to Peter what the devil had planned against him. We must love standing in the gap.
3) Before Me.
This refers to position.
The man God is looking for must dwell in God’s presence. He must love being in God’s presence at all times. You cannot remain in God’s presence if you do not love it.
The man God is looking for remains in position. He does not change his stance. He is always connected to heaven. There is life in God’s presence. Whenever there is a problem, he does not complain but fulfills his role.
4) The land is not destroyed.
The land represents your country, your family, your church, etc. Intercession prevents the destruction of our families, churches, etc. When an intercessor stands in the gap, there is no destruction in his family, church, etc.; instead, there is mercy and revival fire. The purpose of intercession is protection and blessing.
“So he said he would destroy them—had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them.“ Psalm 106:23
Moses stood in the gap as an intercessor. If Moses had not stood in the gap and played his role as an intercessor, Israel would have been destroyed.
God is looking for a man like Moses to prevent destruction.
We understand that with intercession, destruction will no longer be an issue. Through intercession, the devil and his agents become ineffective because of the fire it ignites in our families and church services.
Say after me: “I am the person God is looking for in my family, church, etc., because intercession is His will.”
God’s primary purpose for man is that he becomes an intercessor because God does not want our families to be destroyed.
The devil and his agents are powerless where there is fire. Intercession prevents the devil from destroying or operating.
“Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand.“ Acts 28:3
The fire of intercession disturbs the viper, a symbol of the devil. The devil and his agents will never be comfortable where intercession is present. That is why God is looking for a man who can stop the enemy’s work in his family, church, etc., through prayer.
Let us do God’s will by interceding for our churches. Witches will flee our services and will be unable to operate. The viper does not like fire.
Let us do God’s will by interceding for our brothers and sisters-they will be protected, and satanic and demonic works will have no impact on their lives. The devil and his agents will be unable to touch them.
Are you ready to be the person God is looking for?
