HOLD FAST. Thursday, October 31st.
“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13
“That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting.” Ephesians 4:14
From the passages above, it is clear that strong men remain steadfast in their faith. It is the children who are tossed about by every wind of doctrine. When people change their beliefs just because a “man of God” said something or because their pastor announced a change in beliefs, without seeking the truth in the word of God themselves, I know they are baby Christians or Christians with a growth delay.
Once you have found the truth in the word of God, do not let what people say shake your faith. Do not let your walk with God be dictated by what people say. You must know God for yourself and let your walk with Him depend on your personal relationship with Him. There is nothing like a direct experience of who God really is. Once you begin to relate to Him personally, it becomes difficult for anyone to deceive you because you know your God.
In John 16:13, Jesus Christ said that the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. So, to know the truth about the word of God, you must be filled with the Holy Spirit. It is your relationship with the Holy Spirit that determines the amount of truth you know. HOLD FAST
1 John 2:27 says that the anointing within you will teach you all things, and according to Acts 10:38, the anointing comes with the Holy Spirit and power. For example, Peter was too afraid to stand on his belief that Jesus was the Messiah and identify with Him before his baptism in the Holy Spirit. After experiencing the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Peter became an entirely different person. In Acts 11:1-18, after he went to Cornelius and the assembly gathered to question him for going to a Gentile, he stood firm as a rock and said, “The Spirit told me to go.” He was no longer afraid to stand by what he believed. HOLD FAST.
Be filled with the Holy Spirit, and you will know the truth of the word of God so well that it will be difficult for you to be deceived by false doctrines. HOLD FAST.
