We give them the sincere milk of the Word till they grow to partake of the meat of the Word; thereafter, they grow further to partake of the strong meat of the Word. Scripture says,

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2

We teach them the principles of the Word, the meat hat is profitable to them and then develop them to partake of the strong meat of the Word.

As it is written, “For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5:13-14

By so doing, we feed our sheep and God rewards us in return. Also, a heart for God is most times validated by time for God. We cannot have a heart for Him and not have time for Him or do things that His heart pants after (Psalm 119:164). Also, we can never make the most of whatever we do not have time for.

We must recognise that multitudes are still in the valley of decision, looking for rescue from the dungeon of sin and the master of this world (satan).

Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.” Joel 3:13-14

This is why passion for these souls must be ignited by God in our hearts in order to enable us go all out in ensuring they are reaped into the house of the Lord and have definite encounters with Him that will culminate in their establishment in the faith.

We must understand that:

• God wants all men saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Peter 3:9). That is why the church of Christ will not stop going after souls until His desire is actualised.

• Hell is not meant for man but for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). We must, therefore, stop at nothing in seeing that hell is depopulated on a daily basis.

• Until the knowledge of the glory of God covers the earth as the waters cover the sea, we must remain on-the-go after the lost (Isaiah 11:9).

• Until there are no more unsaved souls on the streets across our harvest field, the reaching out must continue.

… Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

.. Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

… Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” Luke 14:21-23

In reaching out to the lost, we must possess the following:

1. A Sense of Urgency.

There is a time limit to how long any man can stay in a pit where there is no water, food or light and survive (Zechariah 9:11). Jesus demanded that we lift up our eyes unto the field and see that the field is already ripe for harvest (John 4:35). God once told me, The harvest of Africa is now overripe; rush in and preserve it from decadence. We either rush in for the preservation of the fruits or we lose them to the enemy. Also, many need to be pulled out of the fire before they get consumed. As it is written,

And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” Jude 22-23

2. A Necessity Perspective for Maximum Delivery.

A necessity mentality is a vital force for outstanding accomplishment. When the delivery of a task becomes a must, all our mental and spiritual endowments would rise up to the task. Paul, speaking to the Corinthian church, said, for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel (1 Corinthians 9:16).

Jesus gave the soul winning task to every child of God when He said, Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain (John 15:16). This task should be utmost on our minds that we would not go to bed daily if we have not won a soul or pointed someone in the way of the gospel. We should approach soul winning with all sense of necessity, zeal and zest.

3. The Wisdom of a Fisherman.

Drawing from scriptures, every soul winner is recognised as a ‘spiritual fisherman’. Jesus gave a clear picture of His divine plan for all His disciples when He declared, ..Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men (Matthew 4:19). Since it takes working wisdom to take over a city (Proverbs 21:22), we must ask God for wisdom for maximum impact in our soul winning endeavours at all times. We must also pray for utterance and the right approach in reaching out to the lost around us….
