Worshiping in Spirit
- Be born again (John 3:3).
- Be filled with the Holy Spirit; He must dwell in you for you to offer true worship.
- Dedicate your mind to God in a process of renewal and avoid all distractions during worship.
- Control your heart and seek purity by confessing and renouncing iniquities every time you want to worship (Psalm 51:17).
- Avoid the flesh in worship, as it often leads to frustration without results (John 6:63).
Worshiping in Truth
- Focus your worship and praise on the Word of God, not on life’s circumstances (John 17:17).
- Center your worship and praise on who He is and what He does. To know this, you must study the Scriptures to gain knowledge of His character and all that He can do.
- Worship in Spirit and in Truth, avoiding any representation of God.
From true worship comes true praise. Praise is the joyful, exultant, dancing, and singing expression of true worship. Praise is acceptable when it aligns with the characteristics of true worship. When you praise Him, you glorify Him (Psalm 50:28).
