“We must establish priorities when seeking to glorify God in our ministry. […] First, we must be sure that what we dream of and do is the will of God. Second, we must set clear goals. Finally, we must move forward with the faith that God will be with us until the end. Once all these things are in place, it is time to bring out a calculator to estimate the costs. In my case, I [Dr. David Yonggi Cho] dared to push the project forward, believing the necessary money would come. When you finalize your plan, remember that your environment and circumstances do not matter. Strive to move forward in faith. It is God who will bring fulfillment. […] Parents who are expecting a child prepare for the baby’s arrival by gathering clothes, shoes, and a crib. That is normal. In the same way, our dreams require a basic level of preparation in order to be fulfilled. Every conceived dream must be accompanied by a plan for its realization.” (p. 153)

Ask for Everything in Prayer and Believe You Have Received It

“Believers must take hold of the kind of faith that allows them to boldly declare they have something that does not yet appear to be in their possession. Our Lord tells us: ‘Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours’ (Mark 11:24). Jesus gives us the responsibility to think of invisible things, to see them through faith, and believe in their fulfillment. Even if you feel like you haven’t received them, act in faith as if you already have.” (p. 154)

Persist in Prayer with Zeal Despite the Wind and Waves!

“When we come before God in prayer, we must pray until we receive the absolute confirmation that we have received His promise. Even if what we are praying for seems completely unimaginable, we must still pray for it. Things like the conversion of an unbelieving spouse, your dreams for your children’s future, for your business, or the desire to be healed from a disease may seem like a true Mount Everest of problems. When we raise our voices to God with fervor, sharing our goals, our vision, and dreams too heavy to carry or accomplish in our own strength, we must keep praying until we receive the confirmation of the answer in our hearts.” (p. 157)

The Size and Importance of the Task Don’t Matter

“Give and do your best, wherever you are; God will help you and be with you. The size and importance of a task don’t matter—be faithful in all things. Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men.” (p. 159)

Dreams and Desires Don’t Come True Overnight

“Dreams and desires do not come true overnight. To see them fulfilled, everyone must go through the tunnel of trials. If you do not pay the price, your dreams likely will not come to pass. When we go through trials and suffering that break our strong will, we are led to trust God more and obey Him more fully. God uses trials to break our stubborn hearts, our thoughts, and our personal life plans, to transform our ways into His ways. God has prepared so much for every person. And He blesses those who walk the path prepared for them.” (p. 159)

Focus on Your Dreams!

“To fulfill your dreams, you must focus on them and be willing to pay the price. God especially uses our trials because He knows they will break our stubborn will and lead us back to Him, in obedience to His plan. Hardships grow and strengthen our faith. Those who overcome trials and difficulties reach their goals. Athletes train to build their muscles. The same principle applies in the spiritual realm. Our dreams and hopes grow stronger through trials.” (p. 159)

Consider Difficulties as a Seed!

“Consider difficulties as a seed that grows into a great vision and a grand hope. Trials allow us to reach the other side. They are like a tunnel we must go through to fulfill our dreams. If we don’t go through them, we are forced to remain where we are, and we will not be able to access great visions or mighty hopes. ‘So that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.’” (1 Peter 1:7)

The Most Important Key to Ministry

“That’s when I learned the most important thing in my ministry. I understood that I had to plant God’s hope and dream in the hearts and lives of those who seek Him. [Because] all people desperately want to hear about dreams and hope. It is this way because we were created in the image of God.” (p. 167)

Hope and Dreams Keep Us Alive

“Without hope or dreams in our hearts, our good living conditions, food, and clothing matter little—our hearts will die. On the other hand, when hope and dreams dwell in our hearts, we will live, no matter how difficult our situation may be. Humans possess a strong desire to live, and hope tends to strengthen that passion within us.” (p. 169)

Your Dreams Influence Your Future

“A person’s future is defined by looking at their dreams. Dreams are like a mirror that reflects who we are.” (p. 169)
