I would like to point out something to you. Why do we need to be under a faucet to take a better shower? Why must we be under the sun for it to shine better on us? Your bag must be below to put your belongings in it, your hand must be below to better take someone else’s hand. You will also notice that to jump, you need to go down first. The higher the jump should be, the lower we need to go to take off.

If you want to elevate someone to your level, you will descend towards them to bring them up with you. I explain this because you can only receive if you are below. You will receive authority if you know how to be under the authority of another person. Only those who have authority above them are legitimate to exercise authority. If authority grows from what we know, it is because this knowledge comes from someone, so from whom do you learn? Why live without an authority capable of forbidding us certain actions and behaviors?

The first authority not to be trampled underfoot is parental authority, especially that of the father, which is crucial for societal balance. It is submission to this authority that will lead to submission to all other authorities. I am not teaching you much by mentioning statistics showing that 90% of delinquent children come from single-parent families without paternal authority. How can one obtain the authority of a father if one grows up under the direction of a woman? Clearly, we know we have very few benchmarks if we do not have parental authorities.

Indeed, how will you, after your studies, get a job and keep it if you are not used to submitting to your parents? When the Bible says to honor your father and mother to have a long life, it is because submission is learned; it is a culture that will follow us everywhere. You may be rebellious towards your parents, they will cover your faults with love, but your king will eliminate you, your boss will fire you. Heirs are often those who are the most docile, who submit not to what is harmful but to everything that is morally and faithfully correct.

But one receives while being below. You are not promoted because you are rebellious; you do not succeed because you have no regulators, you only listen to the praises of those who are inferior to you and despise the warnings of the elders. In the time of King Solomon, he had raised a tax burden to impose on the people of Israel to finance his construction projects, including the construction of the Temple of Jerusalem.

Later, in the time of Rehoboam, reigning in place of his father, the elders advised him to lighten this burden, but he rather listened to the advice of his younger friends by amplifying the load. The consequence of this decision was the division of the kingdom of Israel. The tribes of Judah and Benjamin formed the kingdom of Judah, over which Rehoboam reigned instead of ruling over the twelve tribes, while the other ten tribes formed the kingdom of Israel. His reign was marked by conflicts and great difficulties. This could be explained by the fact that Rehoboam was never close to his father to learn how to govern…
