.HOW TO PROSPER IN YOUR INTELLECT.
KEY VERSE: “Zebulun shall dwell by the seashore; he shall be a haven for ships, and his border shall extend toward Sidon.“ (Genesis 49:13)
God created the soul, particularly the intellect, as a vessel for knowledge. The Word declares: “…Lack of knowledge is not good for anyone…“ (Proverbs 19:2, LSG). Thus, when we tolerate ignorance, we hinder the development of our soul and, consequently, our prosperity. Therefore, we will examine seven different types of knowledge that we must acquire to prosper in our financial life.
The first type of knowledge we must cultivate is biblical knowledge. Observe the relationship between this kind of training and wealth:
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth; you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.“ (Joshua 1:8, LSG).
If the Book of the Law, which is the Word of God, never leaves your mouth—if you speak it, meditate on it, memorize it, and practice it—then you will begin to prosper in everything you do.
Knowledge is the foundation of wealth; therefore, it takes precedence over it. Solomon says:
“Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold.“ (Proverbs 8:10, LSG).
In other words, if you must choose between money and education, choose education; if you must choose between gold and knowledge, choose knowledge. In short, I place more importance on education than on money.
I often meet young people who should be in school but tell me they are working full-time or trying to start a business. This is the wrong priority at this stage of their lives. If you are in your twenties, living with your parents, with your bills paid and food on your table, your priority should not be a full-time job or starting a business—you should be getting your degree.
The day will come when you will focus on these things, but now is the time for your formal education. If you do not prioritize your studies while you are young, you are doomed to small jobs for the rest of your life. Prioritize your education.
Having a university degree is a must. The Word of God declares:
“By knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.“ (Proverbs 24:4, LSG).
It is difficult to prosper when one is ignorant. That is why Solomon insists:
“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get understanding.“ (Proverbs 4:7, LSG).
Wisdom is applied knowledge. You can be well-educated and not be wise, but you cannot be wise and not be well-educated. There is a close relationship between a good education and a successful life. Focus on your education.
Knowledge does not replace intelligence; intelligence does not replace knowledge. Seek knowledge.
PRAYER
Lord, I have received Your Word today. You have not given me a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and sound mind.
In Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
