Large Families Are a Blessing for a Nation.
KEY VERSE: “Let Reuben live, and not die, nor let his men be few.” (Deuteronomy 33:6 KJV)
Moses said: “Let Reuben live, and not die, nor let his men be few.” (Deuteronomy 33:6 KJV).
Since families are the fundamental building blocks of nations (Psalm 22:27), large families benefit not only themselves but also the nation to which they belong. The Bible declares:
“In the multitude of people is the king’s honor, but in the lack of people is the downfall of a prince.“ (Proverbs 14:28 NKJV).
One of the factors contributing to a nation’s strength is its large population. Joseph Stalin once noted that quantity has a quality of its own. There is a reason why the world’s most populous nations are also the most prosperous and powerful. The three most populous countries are China (1.41 billion), India (1.40 billion), and the United States (331 million).
The United States remains the leading economic power, followed closely by China, while India is also experiencing rapid growth. The large populations of these countries are an asset. A country with a large population has a vast potential market for goods and services, giving it economic influence. A growing population means a young workforce, ensuring a strong labor force.
A highly populated country also has a significant pool of military recruits. Additionally, a growing population ensures a broad tax base to support social programs and older generations. In the Bible, family multiplication is not seen as a curse but as a blessing. The Bible declares:
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.“ (Psalm 127:3-5 NKJV).
Children are not only a blessing to their families but also to a church, a community, and a nation. “Let Reuben live, and not die, nor let his men be few!” (Deuteronomy 33:6 KJV). Be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:26).
PRAYER
God the Father, by the power of Your Son Jesus Christ given to me, I command the spirit of barrenness to flee from my family. In His mighty name, I pray. Amen.
APPLICATION
Take a moment now to pray against the spirit of barrenness so that it stays far from your family lineage in the name of Jesus Christ!
