“You will lend to many nations, but will not borrow.” Deuteronomy 28:12b

“The Lord will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.” Deuteronomy 15:6

As you have read, the blessing of influence in Deuteronomy 28 is also given in Deuteronomy 15:6. However, the Hebrew words from which “lend” and “borrow” are translated are not the same. “Lavah” in Deuteronomy 28 and “Abat” in Deuteronomy 15. To understand why your God does not want you to borrow but rather to lend, let’s study these two (2) forms a little:

Lavah (Deuteronomy 28:12b) can be translated as “to bind”: you should not be bound by borrowing from the world, but rather it is you who should bind the world because of what it has taken from you. It’s not necessarily about money, but all kinds of ties. You should not be tied to the world by spirits, by money, by the love of the world. It is for the world to be bound to you. I declare that the world is bound to you because it needs you. You “lavah” the world in the name of Jesus.

Abat (Deuteronomy 15:6) means “to give as a pledge”. The Bible tells us that Jesus paid our debts, He redeemed us. This means that there are spiritual exchanges to such an extent that many people can be claimed because of a pledged debt they have incurred.

Some have unconsciously pledged their health, their children, their homes to obtain certain things from the world. Through your blessing of influence, the repayment of the debt is activated, the release from the pledge (the collateral) is engaged. Instead, God ensures that the world and the nations owe you. Although Jesus paid your debt, it is possible to borrow in the manner of “abat” and unfortunately subject yourself again to a satanic yoke. I pray that every yoke, every pledge, be removed from your life in the name of Jesus. Through the blessing of influence, it will be you who lend to the world so that it owes to the Lord.

Here are some manifestations of borrowing and lending:

1. The world lends to you, meaning it “binds” you when you eventually believe that your life and success depend on money, on your relationships. The one who lends to the world is the one who is aware that their life depends on God. They will lend the divine life to the world.
2. One whose life is directed by those who finance them and by their creditors borrows from the world. But one whose life is directed by heaven lends to the world.
3. One who thinks that without money and the glory of the world they can do nothing borrows from the world. But one whose source and resource is Christ eventually lends to the world.
4. One who is bound by anger, lies, bad attitudes, borrows the world’s bad character. But one who gives life, love, peace of the Kingdom lends to the world.
5. One whose way of being seen, of speaking, comes from a worldly and carnal way has borrowed from the world. But one who speaks and walks like Jesus lends to the world. May the world borrow your lifestyle straight from the Kingdom.
6. One who is possessed and influenced by demons has borrowed the spirits of the world of darkness. But one who influences the world through their divine anointing lends to the world. They manifest the blessing of influence.
7. One who is bound by bad company ends up borrowing from them. But one who walks with the wise eventually lends divine wisdom to the world.
8. One whom Satan can claim has borrowed from the world, while one in whom Satan has nothing lends to the world.

The blessing of influence is the blessing of domination through positive influence. Through you, God wants to influence people. Therefore, you should not be influenced by the world, but you should influence it.
