MAINTAINING THE BLESSING.
If you read Genesis 24:1 & 35, you will discover that the blessing must be maintained and upheld. Maintaining the blessing is done through consistency and a total commitment to obeying the word of God.
“Abraham gave all his possessions to Isaac. He made gifts to the sons of his concubines; and while he was still alive, he sent them away from his son Isaac, eastward, to the land of the east” Genesis 25:5-6.
Abraham blessed Isaac with “everything” in verse 5, but the question is, where did he get the gifts he gave to the sons of the concubines? Look at the wisdom—Abraham gave Isaac everything that made him Abraham (the anointing), but to the others, he gave perishable things: cars, houses, lands, etc.
It was not a physical blessing that ABRAHAM gave to Isaac. It was the divine deposit that he had within him that he gave to Isaac. What made ABRAHAM who he was! It was the blessing of God on his life. And that is what he gave to Isaac. He gave physical things to others, but he gave the substance of his life to Isaac. It is no wonder, then, that Isaac was a wonder in his time!
Today, many ministers are what I call “professional receivers and not professional givers.” They collect practically everything they can from their fathers in the Lord. This is a mistake of the ministers of the 21st century.
Every time I have the opportunity to have an encounter with my father in the Lord, I go with a seed to access what he has within him. The day you begin to see your father in the Lord as your “carrier of graces” and access it with wisdom, you will pray less and achieve great results.
Currently, we have a generation of people who have no value for fatherhood, prophetic, or apostolic anointing. They come to you, and all they ask is, “Pray for me. Bless me, etc.” It doesn’t work like that; even if it doesn’t work like that! Say with me, while you read this book: “The blessing, I need it now.”
Isaac was old and about to die, and he then called Esau, his first son, to give him a delicious yam stew. What did that yam stew have to do with the blessing? It is a principle of exchange that must be respected for the blessing to be released!
