MAKE STRATEGIC CHOICES.
You must plan what you want to become just as much as you plan your career. What do you want to look like? What testimony about your character and works would you like to be given when you leave this Earth? What do you want to accomplish?
The answer to this question is obviously not the name of the profession you wish to pursue. It is about transformed lives, about disciples of Jesus being formed.
You must work on your own restoration and upliftment because what you have been delivered from reveals an area where God wants you to help others find freedom. You cannot change yesterday, but you can use it as a springboard to propel yourself into your future.
Youth is a unique period in life, marked by energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to dream big. It is a season where possibilities seem endless, and each day is a new opportunity.
Take advantage of this phase to explore, learn, and grow. Youth is a precious gift, and it is important to cherish and fully utilize it. However, it is essential to maintain balance and not get lost in fleeting desires or immediate pleasures that could have long-term negative consequences. So, be mindful of your choices!
“Young man, enjoy your youth. Be happy while you are still young. Do whatever you desire, whatever pleases you. But remember that God will judge everything you do.“ — Ecclesiastes 11:9 (Bible in French Common Version)
The choices you make during your youth can prolong, block, or abort the glorious destiny that God has for you. Young person, be very careful with your choices—they will become burdens that you will carry.
One day, a young Christian girl went to a social party where she met a young man who made advances toward her. She refused, despite his insistence. Then, he offered her alcohol. She accepted and drank several glasses, and naturally, her judgment weakened. She ended up sleeping with this young man, but it happened only once. The incident passed, and she repented to move forward with her life.
Later, she married a good man and gave birth to a child. After the birth, she was informed that her child was born with HIV/AIDS. Upon further examination, it was discovered that the young Christian woman herself was carrying the virus.
Can you imagine? She had slept with that young non-believer only once, yet that single moment impacted her entire life. Yes, the choices you make inevitably have consequences on your future.
Do you tell yourself that no one sees you when you make a bad choice? That the pastor won’t find out? It doesn’t matter, because God sees you! You cannot hide from Him.
“For you write bitter things against me and make me inherit the iniquities of my youth.“ — Job 13:26
Is your excuse, “I didn’t know. I was young”? Maybe you didn’t know, but that does not change the fact that your choice is a seed, and you are responsible for it. The Bible clearly states that whatever a man sows, he will reap. David says:
“Lord, hear my voice when I call; have mercy on me and answer me!“ — Psalms 27:7
Asking God in old age to forget the sins of your youth is not wrong, but you do not have to make mistakes today. No, you are not obliged to make mistakes today just to beg God for mercy tomorrow. Do not willingly carry burdens that will follow you for a lifetime.
Your youth and your calling are more precious than you realize. Do you know that you are the savior of your family? Generational witchcraft or poverty should end with you. Be aware that God has chosen you for a great mission. You are special, so do not let mistakes made in the name of trends jeopardize your future.
God wants to equip you and send you out. God calls everyone, especially young people, because it is in this season of life that good seeds are planted. If God does not do it, the devil will.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.“ — Proverbs 22:6
Youth is a precious and exciting period. Enjoy every moment, be happy, and pursue your passions, but do so with the awareness that your actions have consequences and that God, in His wisdom and love, evaluates each of them. Living with this perspective will help you make choices that will enrich your life and have a positive impact on your future…
