NO CONTACT, NO CONTRACT!
It is contact that establishes the contract. Contact is the surest way to fall into the trap of immorality. But if contact is well-monitored, no contract with sin is possible. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 advises us to abstain from all forms of evil.
Immorality is impossible without contact. Do you remember the woman from Proverbs 7:13? Samson would not have fallen if he hadn’t come into contact with Delilah. He was sensually lying on her lap, and she had the chance to press him with her sweet words. Eventually, she succeeded in bringing him down! Be careful with your contacts. Cleanse your environment to avoid deadly contacts.
Dismissing an employee who risks ruining you is an act of security. Be vigilant. Peter said:
“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’” 1 Peter 1:13-16
Don’t pay attention to all those women who come to you seeking deliverance if you are a minister of God: they are not possessed. Just as Satan entered Peter to use him to distract Jesus from His mission, people around you can be vessels for all sorts of spirits.
Peter was not possessed by Satan but was used by him. God is sounding the alarm because Satan is prowling about, using men to prevent our breakthrough. This is why there are so many bad examples in the world today. Be cautious if you don’t want your name added to this dark list.
“Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, nor let her allure you with her eyelids.” Proverbs 6:25
These human agents, infested with evil spirits, wage war on those precious in the Father’s eyes because that is their mission. They are also well-equipped for the task! They will come to you crying and wailing. They know that you and I are precious in God’s sight. That’s why they are out there. You must resolve never to be caught.
Keep good company
“Do not be deceived: ‘Evil company corrupts good habits.’” 1 Corinthians 15:33
If you want to live righteously, it’s evident that you must keep good company and associate only with what is right. Someone once testified that they had a habit of watching a particular program on TV. That program led to their downfall. They lost eternal life for at least two years before returning to the Father’s house.
Every good company leads to good spiritual hygiene! No matter your level of anointing, dedication, or the number of vows you’ve made, bad company always corrupts good habits. Your companions determine the life you lead.
The Church in Corinth had the greatest number of spiritual gifts. The Bible says they were not lacking in any gift of the Holy Spirit. In fact, speaking in tongues had become as common as speaking their native language in that church, to the point that Paul had to intervene to restore order, instructing them on when to speak in tongues. It was also a generously giving church, with knowledge of mysteries. But they were corrupted by vain company.
Although spiritually gifted and taught about God’s mysteries, the church in Corinth was also the most corrupt in the New Testament world. All imaginable sins were present! They even fought over the communion table! It was the most charismatic of all New Testament churches, but so rotten! It had the gift of the Spirit of holiness, for the presence of the Holy Spirit was evident in their midst. But bad company corrupted them. Proverbs 13:20 tells us:
“He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.”
The church in Corinth was so polluted that in 1 Corinthians 5:1, we are told that one of its members even took his father’s wife! Simply because after giving their lives to Christ, no one separated from their former bad company. They continued to hang out with their childhood friends, dubious pre-repentance associations, and questionable brotherhood clubs. How do I know? Well, see what Paul tells them in 2 Corinthians 6:14-17:
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’ Therefore ‘Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.’”
I can hear some of them responding: “Christianity doesn’t mean abandoning your old friends. How will they know Jesus? If we separate from them, how will they come to know the Lord?” Well, I have news for you if you think this way. It is easier for your old friends to separate you from God than for you to bring them to know Him.
Listen to this: Christianity without separation from the world leads to destruction! How can you follow a sinner’s counsel and not fall with him?
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;” Psalm 1:1-5
Therefore, I ask you to make your choice. It is impossible to live a pure life by aligning with polluted men. When you live with a liar, you commune with the spirit of lying in them. They will make you a witness to their deeds. You cannot befriend an adulterer without falling into the same sin.
When we first began the Christian revival movement, some brothers decided to bring this fire into their original churches. Today, they are the ones in need of revival because their return extinguished the flame! What can the living do among the dead? Proverbs 21:16 tells us:
“A man who wanders from the way of understanding will rest in the assembly of the dead.”
May God deliver you from the snare of unbelievers! God has said: Separate yourselves from them, come out from among them… As anointed as He was, Jesus stayed among believers throughout His time on earth. He had chosen the twelve to be with Him. Thus, He had a company of trusted people to deal with. His confidants were Christians. John the Beloved had the most intimate access to His heart.
You mock your Christianity by having an unbeliever as a confidant. Some of you say: “We were classmates!” Very well. Just be ready to become cellmates soon, for hell is the biggest prison that ever existed: it’s a dark, barren, and bottomless pit!..
