“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

This prayer will have an absolutely revolutionary effect on your life. It will activate a profound metamorphosis in the way you see life. A new vision of life means new actions. New actions also mean new results. In this passage, when the Apostle Paul recommends, “Be transformed,” he uses the Greek word “metamorpho,” which speaks of metamorphosis.

In other words, the Apostle Paul is saying that the mind must be metamorphosed to understand God’s will. Your understanding of God’s will is closely linked to a metamorphosis of your mind. The two go hand in hand. Thus, praying daily to receive a transformation of your thoughts and your often mistaken perspective on life becomes essential.

Indeed, every day, your thoughts are susceptible to being polluted and contaminated by false information, fallacious reasoning, limiting thoughts, lies, and impurities. Whether through your surroundings, the information you consume, or social media, it is inevitable to be exposed to perspectives and influences that could potentially affect the trajectory of your life. This is precisely why the Apostle Paul exhorts us:

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8

The prayer to acquire divine perspective is a process in which you ask God to renew your mind. Here is an example of how I practice this prayer every morning:

“Lord, I pray that you will renew my thoughts.

Purify my thoughts from all that is impure.

I want to see life as You see it, Lord.

Help me to discern the Truth from lies.

Give me Your perspective on my future, my struggles, my challenges, my trials.

Grant me spiritual intelligence.

Give me Your heart for the people around me.

Free me today from all false reasoning, lies, and things that would limit Your plan for my life.

I want to see my life as You see it, Lord.

Metamorphose my mind today, and allow me to discern Your perfect plan.

Amen!”
