“Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, and it spoke like a dragon.” Revelation 13:11
When you see the horns, you think it’s a lamb, but when it speaks, it’s a dragon. Arrogance is pride in expression; it can be a physical or verbal expression.
Arrogance manifests in various ways: disrespect, insults, contempt for others, or even thinking one is the most important or the most beautiful person. This is why many beautiful women are often perceived as arrogant. It is also common to see some of them involved in prostitution or becoming second wives, especially in Africa. Some women might say to a man, “Who are you to want to marry me?” or to their husbands, “When you look at me, could you have married a woman like me? I married you out of pity.” These are attitudes that remind us of Vashti. Don’t be surprised if God removes you from there.

  1. Arrogant people are unbearable.
If you observe them closely, you’ll see they believe they are above everyone else. They think they are superior, better than everyone. As a result, they speak to others with contempt.
  2. Arrogant people like to be seen.
They love having all eyes on them. Their behavior and words are often meant to attract attention and assert their presence.
  3. Arrogant people are aggressive.
They easily get angry and are ready to curse others. Arrogance is the expression of pride. It can be expressed physically or verbally, and the arrogant person often speaks violently. In both cases, you feel an aggression coming from them, even if you’ve done nothing to them.
Arrogance also shows in their walk and gaze. Most people around them avoid speaking to them, even in danger. This attitude often deprives the arrogant person of many blessings.
  4. Arrogant people belittle others.
They boast by saying, “I have this, I have that”; “The clothes I’m wearing cost a lot”; “I wear designer clothes.” But do they really know the person they are talking to? The one they are despising? Let’s not forget that the Bible says Jesus appeared as a simple man.
You, children of God, let these things not be found in you. Instead, you must have the feelings that were in Christ. According to Philippians 2:5, our words should be filled with grace…
