PROCLAMATION N°57: REFUGE IN THE LORD.
- Lord, true refuge is found in Your name.
- May the Lord truly be my refuge.
- Lord, grant that I may always find my refuge in You.
- Whatever the circumstances of my life, Lord, help me to always submit to Your word.
- Lord, You are my God and my Father; whom shall I fear? Of whom shall I be afraid?
- I now draw from You all that I need.
- May Your wings, Lord, provide me with shelter.
- May Your wings protect me from every attack of the enemy.
- Never leave me alone.
- I put my trust in You, Lord; may I never be put to shame.
- Have mercy on me, Lord, when I come to seek help from You.
- May Your wings serve as my refuge.
- Call me, Lord, and I will come to take refuge in Your tent.
- Lead me on the right path when I go astray.
- I entrust myself and my family to You; do with us as You will.
- Use us to make Your glory shine.
- Because we have placed our refuge in You, Lord, elevate us among our surroundings.
- Encourage us to encourage those who seek to take refuge in You, Lord.
- May everyone who has found the courage to take refuge in You enjoy Your blessings forever.
- May those who seek my life because I have placed my refuge in You deeply regret it.
- May my trust in the Eternal never be broken.
Psalms 57
- A poem of David, taken from the book of the choir director.
To the tune of: “Do Not Destroy…” When David fled to the shelter of a rock to escape Saul, he said: (57:2) Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me! I seek refuge in You; I take shelter under Your wings until the disaster has passed. - (57:3) I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill His purpose for me.
- (57:4) May God send His help from heaven, for wicked men relentlessly pursue me. May He show me His love and faithfulness!
- (57:5) I lie among fierce people. They are like lions devouring human beings. Their teeth are like spears and arrows, their tongues as sharp as a sword.
- (57:6) O God, You are exalted above the heavens; let Your glory shine over all the earth!
- (57:7) They have set a net for my steps—I was about to fall into it. They have dug a pit before me, but they themselves have fallen into it.
- (57:8) My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music.
- (57:9) Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
- (57:10) Lord, I will praise You among the nations; I will sing of You among the peoples.
- (57:11) Your love reaches to the heavens; Your faithfulness extends to the clouds.
- (57:12) O God, be exalted above the heavens; let Your glory shine over all the earth!..
