PROCLAMATION No. 39: THE SILENCE OF GOD.

  1. The Lord is my refuge and my fortress; whom shall I fear? Of whom shall I be afraid?
  2. Lord, Your silence is a good thing.
  3. Lord, teach me to remain silent when necessary.
  4. Reveal to me, Lord, Your silence.
  5. May the blessings that come from Your silence reach me without delay.
  6. Do not remain silent, Lord, in certain areas of my life.
  7. Remain silent, Lord, when it is necessary.
  8. Also react when it is necessary.
  9. But do not remain silent in the face of the evil situations that come before me.
  10. May Your silence not last long in my life.
  11. May it be You who reacts first and last in my life.
  12. May Your silence, Lord, bring me happiness.
  13. Silence all the evil situations in my life.
  14. Silence, Lord, all the enemies who rise against me.
  15. Rise up and calm the various storms in my life.
  16. Move mountains, Lord, especially the hardest and most stubborn ones in my life.
  17. Shut the mouths of sorcerers, evil spirits, and demons who hinder my progress.
  18. Be harsh with the enemies of my soul.
  19. May Your silence not last forever in my life.
  20. Chase those who chase me, Lord.
  21. Rise up against those who rise against me, Lord.

Psalms 39

  1. A psalm of David, taken from the book of the choir director.
Of Jeduthun. (39:2) I said, “I will watch my ways so that I do not sin with my tongue; I will keep my mouth shut as long as a wicked man is before me.”
  2. (39:3) So I remained mute, silent. I held my peace, but it did me no good: my suffering increased.
  3. (39:4) My heart was burning within me, each sigh was like a fire. Then I spoke:
  4. (39:5) “LORD, show me when my life will end; yes, let me know how much time I have left. Then I will realize how fleeting I am.”
  5. (39:6) You have made my days a mere handbreadth. Before You, my lifetime is as nothing. Even if a man stands firm, he is but a breath.
  6. (39:7) He moves to and fro like a shadow; he labors in vain. He heaps up wealth, not knowing who will enjoy it.
  7. (39:8) And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.
  8. (39:9) Deliver me from all my transgressions; do not let fools mock me.
  9. (39:10) I remain silent; I do not open my mouth, for it is You who has done this.
  10. (39:11) Remove Your plague from me; I am consumed by the blow of Your hand.
  11. (39:12) When You discipline a man for his sin, You consume his wealth like a moth. Surely, all mankind is but a breath.
  12. (39:13) Hear my prayer, LORD, listen to my cry for help; do not ignore my tears. For I am a foreigner with You, a sojourner, as all my ancestors were.
  13. (39:14) Turn Your gaze away from me, so that I may smile again before I depart and am no more.”
