The Pursuit of Vision is all about the discovery of purpose and the pursuit of that purpose through divine guidance. God has a purpose for every redeemed child of His. There is a divine assignment entrusted to you to carry out here on earth.
A discovery of that purpose or assignment is the first step towards the pursuit of vision. This book teaches how you can arrive at your high place in life through following God’s leading. Author, Dr. David O. Oyedepo, stresses the need for divine guidance in the fulfillment of destiny. According to him, “The quality of every man’s destiny is a function of the quality of the divine guidance he receives…His leading defines the limits of our destiny.”
Dr. Oyedepo also discusses the virtues of “Divine Corrections”, which he describes as actually seventy-five percent of what God does as He leads us.

Overview of the book.
Salvation or the new birth brings a glorious destiny to all who have been redeemed. We have been redeemed as priests and kings, and God’s plan for us is that we be regions on earth (Rom. 8:29-30; Revelation 5:10). We have also been called to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3).
But how do we access this weighty dimension of glory that is reserved for us? Knowing what is yours but not knowing how to access it can be very frustrating. Isaiah 2:2-3 and Micah:12 make it very clear that the unfolding of God’s ways is what will bring His glory upon the church.
The quality of the revelation that the church has access to is what will determine the quality and weight of the glory that it can enjoy. Discovering the vision and pursuing it is the gateway to the actualization of our glorious destiny in Christ. The place of divine direction in the pursuit of vision is equally vital, for only those who are led by the Spirit of God can truly manifest their sonship on earth. It is divine direction that makes the journey of life awesome, for you cannot operate in God’s ways without causing ripples on the earth. The Bible says,
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9).
When you follow God’s higher ways, you become a high achiever in life. The Bible unveils the limitless realms of glory that God has reserved for His people in Deuteronomy 28:113.
It is far more important to note the secret to accessing them, which is revealed in the first verse: And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt diligently hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the world. The earth:
The glory destined for the end-time church is rooted in His voice; it is rooted in hearing the voice of the Lord, which is divine guidance. When heard, the voice of the Lord will always result in a glorious experience. The voice of the
Lord is therefore the master key to the dimensions of his glory in our lives. He But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he hears, that will he speak; and he will show you things to come.
John 16:13 The Bible also says in Isaiah 49:10: They shall neither hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor the sun light them; for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them; even by springs of water he shall guide them.
The Church is programmed to be a leading Church, because it is led by the Spirit of the Lord. Man is limited as a human being. In fact, I recently said to one of my sons, “Your spirit is too poor to be followed.” That is why we will always need divine guidance. Our thoughts are not His thoughts. His thoughts on the whole matter of life are higher and therefore lead the highway of life.
You must be divinely guided in life, because one wrong step can destroy an entire destiny. No matter how colorful your vision is, one wrong direction can lead to many years of setbacks and can even destroy a man’s destiny.
Many have traveled out of their country to other lands and their situation has worsened, for the answer to every man’s problem is not found in a nation, but in God. Others have opened seemingly open doors in business that have ended in grave loss, ruin and bankruptcy.
So if you want to enjoy and experience the glory that is reserved for you as a child of God, then you must be sensitive to what He commands. You are supernaturally in control when you operate as commanded, because the Call sustains you, to ensure that what He has commanded you to do is accomplished.
Christ was crucified to connect us to the Abrahamic covenant of honor and dignity (Galatians 3:13-14). Isaac, our covenant brother with whom we share a common inheritance, was also envied by all those around him (Genesis 26:12-14).
So every child of God carries an enviable destiny; we are to be envied and not pitied. As I have so often said, men pity only those who are in the pit. We are not destined for the pit; rather, we are a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden.
That is the purpose of this book. It is designed to provide scriptural detail on the vital subject of pursuing the vision.
The subject of the virtues of divine correction is also addressed, for divine guidance is not complete unless you are open to God’s correction. All of this is designed to enable you and me to fulfill our destiny with brilliance. Therefore, follow us as we travel the spiritual signposts on the road to destiny fulfillment.
