Let me explain the notion of purification to you as simply as possible. We all know that the blood of Jesus purifies us from all sins 1 John 1:7. Yes, we are purified from all sins. However, here, we are not talking about the purification of sins. Sometimes, we are exposed to spiritually polluted atmospheres. We extend our hands or naively embrace people filled with the vomit of sorcery.

These spiritual wastes are not necessarily meant for us, but they could constitute spiritual infections for us. In the absence of cleaning, these wastes spread and eventually become big invisible barriers in one or more aspects of life. One day, King David said:

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean…Psalms 51:9.”

King David speaks of purification that renews the human spirit.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalms 51:12

It is also very important to emphasize this: Some of our actions, our sins, create damages that need to be treated. Let’s take the example of masturbation. One who masturbates sins against his own body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. When he asks God for forgiveness for this sin, God truly forgives him. However, this act of masturbation has soiled the immaterial dimension of his hands. The consequences are manifold, notably “dry hands or pierced hands.” A purification ritual is therefore useful.

Let’s now look at some simple but effective purification rituals accessible to everyone…
