“In Lystra, there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed, and called out, ‘Stand up on your feet!’ At that, the man jumped up and began to walk. When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, ‘The gods have come down to us in human form!‘” (Acts 14:8-11)

In this passage of Scripture, Paul was preaching in Lystra. As he preached, there was a man who was lame from birth, listening to him attentively. This man had never walked. He sat there, carefully taking in the message Paul was sharing about the regenerative power of the Holy Spirit—a message I now share with you. When the man heard Paul, he believed. Paul, seeing his faith, declared, “Stand upright on your feet!” The man immediately jumped up and walked! Paul didn’t even need to pray for him.

You see, if you are a child of God and have the Holy Spirit, you no longer need someone to pray for you. You have the eternal life of Almighty God flowing through your veins and the constant presence of the Holy Spirit. That’s all you need to overcome the devil, sickness, affliction, and infirmity. The Bible says in John 1:12-13:

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.“

This is why sickness should have no place in your body if you are born again, because your life is no longer tied to blood!

In Leviticus 17:11, the Bible states, “For the life of a creature is in the blood,“ but when you are born again, the life of your flesh is no longer in the blood but in your spirit. Remember that Romans 8:11 says:

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.“

The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you and gives life to your mortal body. Therefore, you no longer live by blood but by the power of the Holy Spirit, which strengthens, energizes, and gives life to your physical body…
