For a seed of corn to grow into several cobs, it must first be buried in the thick, dark soil, where it will face the risk of being eaten up by insects or getting dried up. Yet, except the grain goes through this risky period, it abides alone. That means it remains stagnated (John 12:24).

There are risks involved in decision making, yet it is inevitable if progress is your goal. Until you take risks, you never move forward. Many are so careful that they have become careless. Think about this: Where you are today is where you would have missed if you had not taken a step yesterday.

Nothing pays you until it has cost you. Until you die, you never live. If you shy away from taking decisions, you remain stranded. Many people have lost precious opportunities, because of indecision. They lack the heart to step out and embrace possibilities and open doors that come their way and at the end of the day, they are left with regrets- “had I known, I would have done this or that.”

There is no great achievement without some great risks. If you decide to go with God, no matter the risk, you will contact His quickening power which will propel you into a life of consistent progress.

Make up your mind to go forward from now!

Do you want to start a business venture or take al step to improve yourself academically or socially? Stop tossing back and forth in your mind, make a decision now and go for it!

If there is an obstacle on the way, tackle it today, otherwise another man will do it and take your crown.

Physically speaking, nobody else in Israel was more qualified than Saul to tackle Goliath. He was taller than all the men in Israel from his shoulder upward, but it was David, a lad, who decided to take the risk of confronting Goliath, not minding his size. As a result, David was rated as the best soldier in the land, while Saul was demoted in the eyes of the people. David overtook Saul and all the other soldiers in Israel with a decision to face the giant and thus he collected the crown.

Decision-makers take risks, but they often go far ahead of those who are too cautious to do the same. It is better to make a wrong decision than to be held down by indecision. No matter the risk involved, decision-makers are never stranded, even when they seem to fall, they rise again.

Let us make a closer study of this subject by looking at the triumph of decision, and the woes of indecision…
