In Luke 4:18, Jesus declared His mission as follows:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

He said, “To proclaim good news to the poor….” “Gospel” means “Good News.” And what is the good news for a poor person? “Provisions are available!” The good news for the hungry is: “Food is available!” The good news for the naked is: “Clothing is available!” For those without shelter, the good news is: “Shelter!” Jesus said He was anointed to preach good news to the poor, to tell them: “You cannot remain poor. I have paid the price for your provisions.” This is confirmed in 2 Corinthians 8:9:

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.

So among the reasons Jesus came, is the redemption of you and me from poverty. Jesus came not only to enrich your spirit, but also to give you abundance in all aspects. He came down to lift you up (Ephesians 2:5-7). It’s important that you appreciate your spiritual position.

Once that is done, you command the extreme riches of His grace. There is no shortage in heaven, no lack, no struggle! And the Bible says that Jesus has lifted you up, that you are seated with Him in heavenly places. And as ambassadors of heaven on earth, you are called to enjoy the provisions and reserves of heaven, with heaven granting you immunity against lack and need.
