Man Connected to the Spirit

The process of man’s creation teaches us something very important from the book of Genesis, chapter 2, verse 7, which tells us that after creating matter from dust (Body), God breathes into it, producing life. In reality, before man was physical, he already existed in God. Before reaching the point of materialization, everything was done in the spiritual realm.

In other words, in God’s original thought, it is not matter that defines man, but the spiritual that determines him. Therefore, concerning man, the creational order is that he is Spirit, Soul, and Body, and not the other way around. God knows how to do things, and His wisdom surpasses that of men.

So when He creates something in a specific order, it is important to respect that order and not do the opposite. If He intended for the epicenter of man to be the spirit, it means that it is from there that man can obey, maintain a relationship with his Creator, and fulfill his divine destiny on earth.

Man Disconnected from the Spirit

God took pleasure in maintaining a close relationship with man. He loved to see His children take care of the garden in which He placed them, and He was delighted to see Adam and Eve walking and respecting His will.

Angry and jealous, the devil did not know how to reach man; he simply could not, because man’s source and life did not reside in the body or the soul but in the spirit. Being a creature excluded from this source of spiritual living water, he could in no way harm man as long as man was connected to God.

Thus, unable to destroy man from within, he then attempted to corrupt him from the outside by enticing him with words to transgress God’s instructions. He knew that if he could corrupt man from the outside, he would eventually find a breach to inject evil into him, thereby destroying the inner man and disconnecting him from the Spirit.

The devil thus set his plan in motion, using cunning and persistence, and in the process, he succeeded in causing man’s fall, as recorded in Genesis 3:6. By eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the devil gained the upper hand over human creation.

By bringing sin into man, his body became infected, turning into flesh, his soul became the ego, and the spirit, which was his epicenter, no longer had the capacity to connect to God’s source of living water. Thus, through this disconnection, humanity became vulnerable to Satan and his kingdom, which could do whatever they wanted, and man’s once prosperous destiny became difficult to achieve.

In His justice, God punished Adam, Eve, and the serpent. He specifically told the serpent that he would eat dust all his life, as stated in Genesis 3:14. When we dwell on this biblical passage, we realize that the serpent’s food is not dust. In this sense, the dust mentioned by God is the matter of man corrupted by sin, that is, the flesh.

Thus, any man dominated by sin, living by the flesh, will be the food of the devil, and the latter will take pleasure in making such a man his slave until his death. It is from this event that the origin of man’s decline is situated, and consequently, the human who was meant to live perfectly and be connected with the Divine finds himself completely stripped of His presence.

While the Spirit of God works in close collaboration with the spirit of man, the devil builds his kingdom in the flesh of man, and it is from this that his destructive plan comes to life. Unable to tolerate the presence of sinful man in the garden, the Lord expelled them from this Holy place.

The advantage Satan gained over man granted him immense power, setting his primary goal to drag as many men as possible into the kingdom of darkness, to prevent any man from knowing the truth, to keep him in ignorance, and to keep all those who want to draw closer to God disconnected from Him for a long time…
