You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His faithful; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalms 97:10, and also meditate on Genesis 27:35-43.

Hatred steals peace of mind. Stay away from it. The opposite of hatred is love. Therefore, anything love can do can be undone by hatred. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 says:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

2 Corinthians 13:13 says that love is the greatest. With love, a family can win any battle it faces. Families work to support each other because of the love that exists between them. Unity within the family helps it stand strong against any enemy, and greatness can only be achieved through love.

Isaac’s family in the Bible was torn apart due to lack of love. The twin brothers in the family were at odds because of hatred. Esau was so consumed by hatred that he wanted to kill his brother Jacob.

Jacob fled from home, and the two brothers were separated for many years. During these years, neither could make significant progress until they resolved their issues. Even before the rift between the two brothers, their parents, Isaac loved Esau because of his venison, while Rebekah preferred Jacob. Thus, this lack of genuine love for each other triggered dysfunction before the final straw, when Jacob, with the support of their mother, stole the birthright from his brother. Family conflicts originated from hatred. This would not have been the case if love had taken a central place in their family life.

God is love, and hatred is from the devil. You cannot claim to love God, whom you cannot see, and not love your brother or sister, whom you see. To avoid hatred, conflicts, and problems within the family, parents must teach and show love to their children. They must also avoid favoritism among their children.

I decree that every evil assigned against you and your family through hatred will die, in the name of Jesus.
