THE LAW OF RESPONSIBILITY AND FINANCES.
God Did Not Create the Poor
The renowned author and speaker Dr. Myles Munroe used to say during his conferences that his life changed the day God made him understand that He did not create either the rich or the poor. Each person becomes rich or poor based on their choices and decisions. Before receiving this revelation, Dr. Myles Munroe believed that some people were predestined to be rich while others were destined to be poor.
The truth is that not only can everyone become financially prosperous, but everyone also has the duty to do so. Just as we will be held accountable for our health, we will also be held accountable to God for our finances. I didn’t know that the Lord expected me to become financially prosperous until I read in the Holy Scriptures that God wants me to prosper in all things and that He wants my light to shine.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
“The Lord your God will bless you as He promised you, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations, but none will rule over you.” Deuteronomy 15:6
These three scriptures clearly show that God has intended for us to be financially prosperous. Since God is a King, His desires must be considered as commands. Therefore, we should consider that God commands us to be financially prosperous.
Financial prosperity should not be an option for us. We are responsible for our finances, and it is up to us to choose to become poor or to become rich…
