The Prayer of Birth Pains.
We approach this form of prayer through two verses:
“For I hear cries like those of a woman in labor, cries of anguish as in a first childbirth. It is the voice of the daughter of Zion; she sighs, she stretches out her hands: woe is me! I am fainting before the murderers!” Jeremiah 4:31
“My children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you...” Galatians 4:19
The first reference speaks to us of the children of Zion who uttered cries of birth pains, that is, prayers that came from the depths of their being.
The second reference helps us understand that it is through intense prayers similar to birth pains that Paul spiritually gave birth to the Galatians, and it is through such prayers that he wants to transform them into the image of Christ.
Any other ways to birth spiritual children and lead them to maturity are almost destined to fail. Indeed, it is not enough to give birth to them; it is necessary to lead them to spiritual maturity, knowing that this requires a long and difficult process that requires us to kneel in supplication. Such supplications are expressed through the prayer of birth pains, as Paul talks about.
It was through the prayer of birth pains in Gethsemane that Jesus could face the ordeal of the cross for the salvation of humanity. Jesus’ sweat began to flow like clots of blood. The prayer of birth pains is used to fight against the principalities of the world of darkness. It is done in fasting and produces great effects.
My wife and I have experienced this prayer several times, but particularly in 2007 when we wanted the International Center for Deliverance and Intercession Ministry (CIMIDI) to be established. Initially, we consecutively observed fifteen three-day fasts without food and water, followed by a seven-day dry fast without breaking until the seventh day, then a seven-day fast, drinking only water, and finally daily fasts with a break at midnight until the Holy Spirit testified that we had given birth to CIMIDI and could start the implantation and work.
My father’s conversion was made possible through the prayer of birth pains. My father was in charge of hundreds of fetishes in his village, not to mention the hundreds of fetishes in his own house. He was versed in occultism and performed wonders with fetishes. It was after I fasted for 120 days that my father and his entire family received Christ. There were times when I spat blood due to the intensity of the prayer.
“Know that every time a prophecy is given to you, it is as if a seed has been sown in you. You must make it grow and bear fruit. To give birth to the prophecy, you need to pray with birth pains. Just as women die in childbirth, you can die without giving birth to your prophecy or vision if you do not provide the necessary prayer effort. You will undoubtedly have great pains at times“, but Jesus said in John 16:21:
“When a woman is in labor, she has pain because her time has come. But when she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the suffering, because of the joy that a person has been born into the world.”
Face the world of darkness with this prayer and give birth to the miracle.
