Some believe that the greatest problem in the body of Christ today is sin, but that is not true!
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin” (Romans 6:6-7).

When you carefully study the Bible, you will discover that the reason Jesus came to die was to address the problem of sin. As a believer, sin is no longer your problem.
Many Christians struggle with sin in their lives because they are ignorant of the Word of God. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ ended sin and brought the believer into a new life.

This is why the Bible declares, “For sin shall not have dominion over you” (Romans 6:14). You may say: “But someone calls themselves a Christian and still commits sin!” Yes, they may still sin, but you see, their problem is not the sin they commit but their ignorance.

Sometimes the devil tries to exploit this; he uses it to deceive God’s children into believing that the reason they are not receiving from God is because of the sins they have committed. He makes them feel there are certain blessings they cannot receive because of sin.

When you come to understand the nature and character of God, you will discover that He does not answer your prayers or bless you because you live righteously, nor does He withhold blessings because you do not. Righteous living is the desire of every child of God, for no true child of God would deliberately want to live in sin.

Every child of God desires to come out of anything that is wrong. This is one of the signs by which you can identify a child of God—they are uncomfortable with sin and do not want to continue in it. This is why when God looks at you, He does not see your imperfections. To Him, you are holy, spotless, and blameless in His sight (Colossians 1:21-22).

You may not always feel righteous or holy, but this is the truth of God’s Word concerning you. Sin is not your problem. You need to understand this truth and let it saturate your mentality; otherwise, it will be difficult for you to develop your faith and make it work.

When you understand that Jesus died as the propitiation for sin and that He gave you a new life superior to Satan, sin becomes a thing of the past. Jesus took responsibility and paid the full penalty for your sins and wrongdoings—past, present, and future..
