THE SECRET PLACE OF GOD REQUIRES SOLITUDE.
Men who are constantly in the company of others do not access the supernatural. Entering God’s supernatural realm requires accepting the time of “Go, hide yourself.” Alone. Because God needs our solitude to speak to us, just as we need this solitude to enter His supernatural presence.
Our Lord needs our solitude to communicate with us, to transform us, and to reveal Himself to us. Just like Jacob, who sent his wives and children ahead to be alone with God. It was there that he wrestled with the Angel and became Israel. Jesus began His ministry after 30 years of preparation and after spending 40 days fasting and praying alone in the wilderness.
Moses spent 40 years alone in the desert of Midian and twice 40 days alone at the top of Mount Sinai/Horeb (Ex. 2:11-15). Similarly, Elijah at the Brook Cherith, Ezekiel by the River Kebar, Paul in Arabia, and John on Patmos all experienced this solitude in the holy retreat of God’s presence.
One must truly live these moments alone with God and one’s conscience; otherwise, one will never experience the supernatural. However, today, the devil fights against this solitude through technology. That is why we must be able to disconnect from phones, tablets, and computers—sources of excessive distraction—to be alone with God.
If you do not have a secret place in God, you will have no power in public. In other words, if you do not have moments of solitude with God, you will be alone among men. If you want God to be with you among men, you must leave men to be alone with God. Only then will He be with you when you are with men.
For me, everything happened through long moments of solitude with God. I did not withdraw because I disliked people or was antisocial. That is not the solitude I am referring to. I speak of the solitude in which I withdrew, and still withdraw, separating myself from everything for a time to hide in God and be in His presence. It is the secret place where you remain alone to pray, even to fast.
Indeed, to live the supernatural of the secret place, one must be a person of prayer and, in addition, have the discipline to devote oneself regularly to prayer and receive that pure anointing that transcends the natural and breaks chains. To become who I am today, I went through difficult moments where I almost gave up.
And when doubt or the thought of giving up arises, we hear the voice of the Spirit saying, “The promises are true. Continue, be patient, endure, persevere, and little by little, God will act.” And it is in those moments of solitude and brokenness in the secret place that I learned authority while also learning self-control. It was in the secret place that I learned to humble myself before someone who was not my biological father but was a Pastor.
And the anointing of this man of God came upon me. The power that was upon him came upon me. The word that was in him entered me. As a result, I did not learn under a great man only because he spoke, but because he embodied and lived what I observed and received from him.
To rise, one must accept to decrease, and in doing so, one will be in the right place to be prepared for the time of manifestation—the “Go, show yourself!” The secret place of “Go, hide yourself” prepares the time of exposure—”Go, show yourself.” And it is between these two stages that God prepares us.
What is God preparing us to face?
