The sword of the Spirit is the only offensive weapon mentioned by Paul:

“The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:17

The sword is a versatile tool for the soldier, as it allows him both to defend himself and to launch offensives against the enemy. Similarly, for the Christian, the Word of God represents this essential weapon. Jesus Himself demonstrated the effectiveness of this weapon when He used the Scriptures to resist Satan’s temptations in the wilderness.

Thus, knowing the Word of God is having a powerful tool that allows you not only to defend yourself against spiritual attacks but also to take the initiative to repel opposing forces and move forward with confidence.
