There are certain factors that provoke the grace of God upon a person.

Knowledge

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” 2 Peter 1:2

You grow in grace through knowledge. A sister gave a testimony in our church one day. She had been in business for seven years, and nothing seemed to work. So, she closed her business.

One day, she came to church and received the Word like fire burning in her mind. She heard me say: “Things only work for workers. As long as you do not work, nothing will work.”

With these words in her heart, she borrowed three thousand naira from her husband, with which she returned to business. One year later, she could testify: “Now, in addition to the machines and tools we have as equipment, we also have two hundred thousand naira in cash!”

This grace and breakthrough came as a result of the enlightenment she received from the Word of God that day in church, and upon which she acted. If that knowledge had not come, she would probably still be down to this day.

Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard.” Proverbs 13:15

The way of the ignorant is hard! Knowledge multiplies divine grace. This sister could not even pay the rent for her shop before the arrival of knowledge. But as soon as light came, it opened the doors of grace before her.

Ignorance equals suffering. There is no mountain anywhere. Each person’s ignorance is their mountain. So wake up, you who sleep, rise from the dead, and Christ will give you light. Light (knowledge) will always attract grace, just as natural light attracts flies. The Bible says:

My son, eat honey, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste. Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” Proverbs 24:13-14

The knowledge of wisdom attracts rewards. You cannot find the true Word of God and not attract grace. No! You cannot find the Word of the Lord and lack grace. Be victorious, defend the truth, and let your right hand achieve awesome deeds (Ps. 45:4). Marvelous divine grace is attracted by the knowledge of the truth.

Righteousness

As we mentioned earlier, the righteous have an inheritance of grace in God. While God surrounds the righteous with favor (Ps. 5:12), He is angry with the sinner every day (Psalm 7:11). When you give yourself over to sin, you move away from God’s grace. And when He is angry with you, you cannot enjoy His favors, which allow you to be a celebrated success on earth.

You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” Psalm 45:7

Righteousness allows you to enjoy God’s grace first, and then the grace of men. Joseph feared God, and God poured His grace upon him, drawing favor to him everywhere he went— in Potiphar’s house, in prison, and finally in Pharaoh’s palace.

You are what you are by the grace of God. “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” Divine grace is thus the mold of men’s destinies. It takes purity to connect to this fountain of grace.

Observe closely any Christian living in bitterness, animosity, immorality, or any form of sin. They will soon become a plague. If you try to do a favor for such a person, the Holy Spirit will immediately say to you: “No!” The angels will not allow you to do it. Why? That person does not have divine approval to enjoy the favor of men!

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47

The purity of the early Church was in place, and that is why they enjoyed unlimited grace, and God added to their congregation daily. May God’s grace locate you from this day forward. May it find you wherever you are at your workplace, at home, in the city, or on the roads, in the mighty name of Jesus…
