Upon reading the above text, we observed several elements that caused Eve to step out of her contentment and desire more than what God had given them.

  1. Listening to Things That Distract You from God’s Vision and Your Husband’s.

The serpent was the most cunning of all the animals in the field, which the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” Genesis 3:1

In his speech, the serpent began by questioning the woman about what God had declared to them. Why does the serpent’s speech start with “Did God exactly say,” because the serpent’s goal was to divert man and woman from God’s plan for their lives. Be cautious of the external world. An evil spirit can dwell in your close ones, your family, your in-laws, your friends, etc., so that through them, you may deviate from God’s vision. Are you a servant’s wife by calling or position?

External speech can lead you to desire more than what God has given you and seek to live beyond your husband’s means. Through the words you hear, you are attacked from the outside to the inside, and your thoughts begin to align with the things you have heard.

  1. Coveting Things You Cannot Possess.

The Bible says:

The woman saw that the tree was good for food, pleasing to the eye, and desirable for gaining wisdom. So, she took some of its fruit and ate it; she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Genesis 3:6

Do not envy things that your husband is not able to provide. Many servant’s wives live under pressure, seeing what other servant’s wives possess and wanting to have the same things at any cost. Dear servant’s wife, God’s provision is gradual; what is destined for you will eventually reach you. Be patient for the time fixed by God.

Before concluding this point, I would like to encourage all these women who have accepted these servants of God in their humble beginnings. I want to tell you that it’s just the beginning, and it’s only a humble start; what comes next will be very glorious.

Hold on, and it will work out.
