Twelve Points for Successful Execution of Planning.
A quote from the Book of Proverbs states that the virtuous woman considers a field and buys it; from the fruit of her labor, she plants a vineyard. Indeed, this quote highlights the importance of taking effective action in executing the necessary steps to achieve desired results.
Moreover, there is nothing new under the sun. However, the revelation of what was yesterday enlightens and provides understanding for what will be today and tomorrow! Therefore, you must transform your approach to shine and change the world.
Here are 12 keys to successfully executing your planning:
- Avoid waste. You must analyze how you use time and other resources (human, financial, and material) daily. Then, identify activities that do not directly contribute to the achievement of your goals and seek ways to minimize them. Finally, reallocate your resources effectively to support your final accomplishments.
- Simplify your processes and routines. To do this, avoid unnecessary complexity and ensure that your goals are broken down into manageable steps (Kanban, Boost ToDo…).
- Optimize your daily tasks. Organize tasks to minimize interruptions and promote a continuous flow of activities. Likewise, your day should be planned to optimize progress toward your priority goals. To do this, execute relevant tasks daily (routine tasks, etc.) by blocking time slots in your schedule. Additionally, automate recurring sub-tasks as much as possible and perform daily follow-ups using appropriate tools.
- Prioritize quality over quantity. Do not try to accomplish many tasks at once; instead, focus on the quality of the activities you undertake. Ensure that each action significantly contributes to your goals.
- Involve your close circle in achieving your goals. You can ask for their support or collaborate on common initiatives. Share your successes and challenges with them.
- Promote continuous improvement. Regularly evaluate your progress and identify opportunities for improvement. It is also important to adopt a mindset that constantly adjusts your planning and development approach to maximize your productive efficiency.
- Conduct a daily retrospective and adjust your Kanban, Scrum board, and “Boost ToDo” list. Adapt to changing conditions and resolve challenges identified along the way.
- Apply the art of effective and consistent communication. It is crucial to communicate your planning well to those around you. After all, what good is a well-crafted plan if you don’t stick to it or if you let others distract you from it? Then, protect your planning by learning to say “NO” to distractions and uncontrolled solicitations from your surroundings.
- Actively engage and constantly visualize your vision. Taking action involves an active commitment to accomplishing the necessary tasks to achieve your goals.
- Overcome procrastination. Keep in mind the overall vision that supports these tasks, and visualize the impact/cost of not achieving your goals or delaying their completion.
- Acquire wisdom in the use of the 24 and 168 hours.
- Become a master of effective delegation.
Let us now delve into the last two points to better understand their importance and relevance…
