When I heard the Lord say He was going to give X-ray vision to seers, some seers it caught my attention. I had never heard of such a thing, except in science fiction movies. Of course, God is a God who surpasses science, and nothing about Him is fiction.

What is X-ray vision? It is the ability to see inside something or someone. An X-ray reveals what we cannot see with our human eyes or natural vision. In part, God is speaking of a higher level of discernment to judge motives and intentions, to see demons inspiring people’s activities, to discern warfare in the heavens so we can combat it.

We know that God Himself has X-ray vision in the sense that He sees in us and through us. God looks at the heart (see 1 Samuel 16:7). God sees our motivations. God sees our thoughts. God sees the desires of our hearts. God sees if there is truth in our innermost being (see Psalm 51:6). God also sees through the enemy his plots and plans. Hebrews 4:13 reveals:

“There is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” God sees everything and through everything and in everything all the time.

Just as X-rays allow doctors to see inside the human body revealing fractures, infections, cavities, cancer, an enlarged heart, blocked blood vessels, swallowed objects, and digestive problems X-ray vision will allow seers to delve deeper to see the hidden works of the enemy. I heard the Lord say:

“I am calling My seers to be watchers, to have a gaze seeing into the spirit realm with active faith, expecting to see what I show and expecting to hear what I say. I invite you to a new level of show and tell, where I demonstrate, and you narrate to a church world whose vision has grown dim.”

“Not everyone will embrace what you see, but keep seeking because I will not only show you things to come, I will show you past issues and events that impact the present and the future so you can navigate around the well-laid plans of the enemy.”

“For the enemy has no new tricks, but he plays upon new generations who are deaf and blind and do not discern his schemes. But I give to My devoted seers who will actively inspect the X-ray vision of the past, present, and future to see through the enemy’s plans and lead My people to victory through strategies and tactics that defy his works.”

“So look and see, lift up your eyes, open them wide. Do not passively wait for Me to show you something when I have commanded you to gaze into the spirit realm and see as a seer would look beyond the limits of their mind and afar off.”

When I heard this word, as strange as it may sound, I chose not to limit God. Shortly after, I began experiencing X-ray vision. In my hotel room, I began to see people walking down the hallways. I would walk to the door and open it to discover they were just steps away or, sometimes, raising their hand to knock. When this happens, it always surprises people. They ask, “How did you know I was here?” I can only explain it as X-ray vision.

Some seers can see inside people’s bodies, with a full view of medical issues like blockages and tumors. These power seers usually have the gifts of healing operating in their ministries. Others can literally see demonic strongholds in the spirit. All this is part of X-ray vision in the dimensions of the seer.

This prophecy of X-ray vision is a powerful word, a rich word, and a word that begs to be unpacked, broken down, and understood. It is a seer mystery that God will turn into revelation as we seek to understand. Not everyone will step into this seer dimension, but it is available.

Seers should be watchers

In the prophetic word, God said, “I am calling My seers to be watchers, to gaze into the spirit realm with active faith, expecting to see what I show and expecting to hear what I say.”

There is passive vision and active vision. Passive vision is when we see into the seer dimensions without trying. God suddenly shows us a picture, plunges us into an open vision, or otherwise brings a visual revelation to our minds without us necessarily begging or even expecting it. In the natural, for example, when someone stands before me, I do not have to try to see them. I cannot help but see them, unless I choose to look away or close my eyes and refuse to look.

Conversely, active vision requires expectation. This expectation leads to watching. We know the Word of God is active (see Hebrews 4:12). If we could see the Word of God in the spirit realm, we would see it exerting force on the kingdom of darkness, delivering power into difficult situations, dividing between soul and spirit, and otherwise effecting change.

Active means something is in action. Contemplation and meditation are part of the actions we can take to move from mere sight to active seeking. You can learn more about this in my book, The Seer Dimensions. You can also find an in-depth explanation of this gateway in my book, “Seer Activations.” The watcher prays and seeks actively with expectation.

In other words, looking often precedes seeing. If I am not looking for something, I may not see it. Have you ever lost your keys in your house? What do you do? You look for them because you cannot see them. You actively search for them and sometimes even frantically because you do not perceive their location. Because you seek, you end up finding them.

The very definitions of these words illuminate the subject. Seeing means “to perceive by the eye; to form a mental image of; to examine, to look at,” according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary. The same dictionary defines looking as “to exercise the power of vision upon, to expect, to anticipate, to direct one’s attention.” Thus, looking often precedes seeing…
