He is Jesus Christ, who came with water and blood; not with water only, but with water and with blood; and it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.” 1 John 5:6

Joseph was a sign of God’s goodness to Potiphar’s household, but Mrs. Potiphar was blinded by the lust of her flesh, seeing in him only a physical beauty capable of fulfilling her carnal desires instead of recognizing the blessing he was to her family. Seeing through the eyes of the flesh blinds you and prevents you from seeing the blessings that God sends your way. This is how the prophet Samuel almost missed God’s goodness for Israel, but God opened his eyes to the grace that the young man called David carried.

The apostle Paul says this: “So from now on, we regard no one from a worldly point of view…” (2 Corinthians 5:16).

Whenever you form an opinion about a person or a situation, ask yourself if this opinion comes from the flesh or from the Spirit.

You are now born again, born of water; do not judge anything based on appearances, the attraction of your flesh, or your desires. The desires of the flesh are contrary to those of the Spirit.

Those who belong to Jesus Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:24.

Regularly practice discerning whether your opinion on certain situations comes from your flesh, your blood, or the Spirit.

Jesus subjected his disciples to this exercise, which is why we can still realize today that the opinion that matters is that of the Father. As a son/daughter of God, you must always ask yourself what your Father thinks of each situation. Because they relied on their eyes (the flesh) and their experiences (the soul, the blood), Jesus’ countrymen saw in him only a carpenter and thus missed the goodness that God was sending them.

God’s goodness can come through people you have known for a long time, but always ask your Father in heaven what He says about it. Peter, after casting his net at Jesus’ request, caught a large quantity of fish because he did not listen to his blood and did not rely on his, albeit extensive, experience in fishing.

The flesh and blood blind you and prevent you from seeing God’s goodness. But because you are born again, a son/daughter of God, you have the abilities of your Father and can also hear His voice.

Even though they had been walking with him for some time, Jesus asked his disciples who they thought He was. He wanted to show them that they should not rely on their experiences (the flesh and blood). Jesus’ countrymen did not recognize that He was God’s goodness to them, thus depriving themselves of miracles, because they assessed Him according to their souls, seeing only the son of the carpenter. (Mark 6:1-7)

The accurate revelation that Peter had of Jesus immediately triggered a blessing in his life. Recognizing God’s goodness can change your entire life; that’s what kindness is, the ability to recognize the goodness that God sends you.

In all circumstances, seek the approach of the Spirit. I know many people who missed recognizing the spouse God was sending them because it was their childhood friend; they could not help but see the brother, the childhood friend. Kindness will also allow you to easily find the man or woman of your life.

Although she spoke well of them, Paul discerned that the spirit animating the woman who followed them was a spirit of divination, a python spirit. (Acts 16:16)

Being born of the Spirit after the renunciation of the self will increase your discernment through the Spirit. The Water, the Blood, and the Spirit of Jesus are the elements that, bearing witness that God has given us eternal life and that this life is in His Son, will open your eyes to the goodness of God. (1 John 5:16)

I am reading my Bible in 1 year: Deuteronomy 34 Psalm 119:145-176

Objective: To go beyond our impressions and emotions and let the Holy Spirit communicate His opinion (His approach) on people and events to us. Meditation: Read and take time to reflect and meditate on the following passages: Hebrews 9:14

Facing the bronze basin : What is your attitude when new people enter your environment? Do you easily judge them based on your intuition? Do you observe their actions before forming an opinion? Do you ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the real identity of these people?
