WHAT DO YOU SEE?
“And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: for all the land which thou seest will I give to thee, and to thy seed for ever.” Genesis 13:14-15
“Look now toward heaven, and count the stars, if thou be able to number them. And he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.” Genesis 15:5
One of the wonderful gifts God has given us is the ability to visualize our destiny. He does not keep it all to himself; he is willing for us to look through the prism of his gaze.
I remember a few years ago, when I was substituting for a teacher, and between lessons I asked the fifth graders this question: What is your dream job? I did not receive a unanimous answer that day; but a range of professions: doctor, lawyer, police officer like dad, president of the republic, merchant, business leader, dentist…
This experience clearly shows the diversity of thoughts of each of us; and that is the beauty of humanity, which is also transcribed in this popular quote: “It takes all sorts to make a world”. So: What do you see? Who will you be in the near future? Where will you be in the near future? What do you want to accomplish? What need do you want to satisfy? What is the sigh of your soul?
If you already have an answer to one of these questions; then, protect and nourish your vision!
“The word of the Lord came to me, saying: What do you see, Jeremiah? I answered: I see a branch of an almond tree. And the Lord said to me: You have seen well; for I watch over my word, to perform it” Jeremiah 1: 11-12
