WHAT DOES GOD THINK ABOUT SEXUALITY?

Some people have a mistaken view of biblical sexuality. They think it should not be discussed; others believe it is “dirty.” Some “burn” with desire and struggle with all their might to appear chaste while suffering deeply. Finally, very few truly live a fulfilling sexuality and fully embrace it as children of God.

It is God who created humanity and its sexuality. And, as with every work He creates, when He made humanity, He evaluated His masterpiece and declared it “good.” In reality, God affirms that humanity, in its entirety, is a beautiful and good creation. This includes sexuality as well.

After creating Eve, God brought her to Adam, who found her so beautiful that he exclaimed, “Bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh!” Then, God gave a mandate to man and woman: “Be fruitful and multiply!”

  • Do you think that God, who created humanity, is unaware that it is through sexuality that humans multiply?
  • Do you believe that God does not know that sexuality is pleasurable? Of course He does, since He is the Creator of human beings.

As the designer and Creator of humanity, God knows the “user manual” for sexuality so that humans can fully benefit from it. He has provided guidelines for sexuality, whether for single and divorced individuals or for those who are married.

These guidelines aim to protect humans both physically and psychologically. Indeed, due to a lack of understanding, some have misused their sexuality, leading to physical or psychological harm.

The fact that sexuality can bring either illness or deep pleasure and fulfillment demonstrates the importance of understanding its “user manual” according to divinely established principles.
