WHY HIM AND NOT ME?
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.“ Titus 2:11 (to memorize)
During the short time I’ve spent in ministry, I’ve had the opportunity to meet people who are fully blessed, while other brothers and sisters from the same community seem to remain continually oppressed, struggling to make ends meet.
Does God make distinctions among His children when sharing His blessings? No, God is not unjust. The servant of God, Titus, tells us in chapter 2 of his epistle that the grace of God has appeared for all men. The Creator of the universe loves all people and desires the best for each one. What prevents many sons and daughters of God from being blessed is their sin. Isaiah declares:
“When I came, why was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Was my arm too short to deliver you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? By a mere rebuke, I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst.“ (Isaiah 50:2, NIV)
“Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:1-2, NIV)
God shows no favoritism. He loves you and is ready to open the heavens for you so that abundant rain may water your life and cause all things to flourish. Change your ways and walk in a manner worthy of the Lord; you will walk under an open heaven, and He will accompany you with His anointing and grace to ensure success in your life and all your plans.
In truth, as a son or daughter of God, grace and all blessings are already your inheritance. You will manifest them by offering God a pleasing aroma. Esau, the eldest of Isaac’s twins, was the rightful heir to his father’s blessing because of his birthright, but he was unable to receive and manifest the blessing because his attitudes did not bring him back to God’s heart.
Let us pray together:
My body and my soul, I command you to walk in a way that does not hinder God’s hand from manifesting His true treasures in my life.
I read my Bible in one year: 1 Samuel 5:1-12; 6:1-21 – Jeremiah 43:1-13 – Romans 5:1-21
