The long-awaited Saturday finally arrived—the day of the special meal at Florys’ parents’ house. Valentin got ready with care, choosing an elegant outfit for the occasion. He could feel his stomach growling as he made his way to her home. He was both excited and a little nervous at the thought of spending an extended amount of time with her whole family for the first time.
He was greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere. The evening went wonderfully, filled with lively conversations, anecdotes, and bursts of laughter.
During the meal, Anne restarted the conversation with a humorous touch:
— Valentin, Florys told us you enjoy playing Ludo, that famous Ivorian game. Is that true?
— Yes, it’s true. I learned to play Ludo when I was a kid and I really enjoy it.
— Valentin has no idea what he’s getting into by challenging our family champion—Mom, said Florys.
— Oh, I’m ready to take on the challenge, replied Valentin, amused. But get ready to lose. Now I see why you picked up the game rules so fast last time. My goodness! You were pretending it was your first time! You totally fooled me, my dear!
They all burst into laughter at the look on Valentin’s face, as he realized Florys had cleverly tricked him.
When it was time to leave, her parents thanked him for his cheerful company and good spirit. As he walked out of the house, he felt grateful for the lovely evening. He knew this meeting marked an important step in his relationship with Florys and would bring them even closer as a couple.
One evening, as the day was winding down, Valentin decided to call Florys to suggest a special outing. He felt it was the perfect moment to spend some time together and explore the city they both loved.
She answered the phone enthusiastically. He suggested a stroll downtown the next evening around six o’clock. Excited, Florys gladly accepted, curious to know what he had in mind.
Valentin explained that they could explore the city center, walk along the lively streets, and maybe discover new shops or art galleries. The idea delighted Florys, who thought it was a perfect way to enjoy the evening. He suggested taking the subway to avoid the hassle of parking. He would leave his car at her place, and they could take the subway from there.
The next evening, Valentin left his car at Florys’ parents’ house, exchanged a few words with them, and then took the subway with her. They got off at a downtown station, ready to explore the city lit up by the night lights.
As they exited the subway, Valentin realized the city center was still a bit farther. He suggested they take a bus for the rest of the way. Their hearts beat with excitement at the thought of this new little adventure.
As the two companions walked along Sainte-Catherine Street, Valentin pointed to a glowing sign in the distance. It was the café where he sometimes worked on his photography. Florys, intrigued, imagined how inspiring the place must be.
The conversation drifted toward their dreams and passions. Florys spoke of her love for writing, explaining how she found inspiration in the little details of everyday life. Hand in hand, they shared thoughts and laughter, creating precious memories.
Suddenly, a young woman approached them with excitement. She was holding Florys’ book in her hands and wore a shy smile…
