While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.‘” Acts 13:2

The boy Samuel was ministering to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no frequent vision. Samuel was growing up, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established as a prophet of the Lord. And the Lord appeared again at Shiloh, for the Lord revealed himself to Samuel at Shiloh by the word of the Lord.” 1 Samuel 3:1, 19-21

Many people ask me, “Prophet, how do I discover my calling?” I often respond, “Start by serving the Lord.” No calling is greater than service. All callings stem from service. By starting to serve in your local church, you will easily discover your abilities in life. Especially when your pastor tells you to serve in a particular department, hurry to do it.

Because he has seen something in you that you haven’t seen in yourself yet. Service helps you discover your true self and your place in destiny. It was by serving the Lord that Samuel discovered his calling. It was by serving the Lord that the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Paul and Barnabas.” I didn’t know I would be a Prophet. I was simply serving the Lord, and the calling came. You cannot steer a vehicle that is not in motion. Get moving now!
