And Daniel said to the king: O king, live forever! My God has sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.” Daniel 6:21-22

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.” Acts 16:25-26

One of the greatest privileges that a true and faithful worker in the Lord’s vineyard possesses is to have their prayers answered. Everyone prays, but not everyone has this privilege. True service to God becomes a divine altar upon which prayers are imperatively answered. Daniel prayed to the Lord in the pit. God answered through the covenant of service that Daniel offered. Paul and Silas prayed in the prison, and heaven favored them because their entire lives were a sacrifice of service to God.

Make this firm resolution to serve the Lord, and your prayers will be like letters in the mail…
