Originally from Port-de-Paix in Haiti, Pastor Wismy Athouriste has lived in the United States for more than 25 years. Married to Marlene Athouriste, he is the father of four children. In 1974, he answered God’s call and attended the Theological School in New Orleans. Ordained as a pastor in 1995, he dedicated his life to serving God and his communities.

With just 40 followers, he founded the Brotherhood Baptist Church, which today has more than 1,500 members. A true leader, Pastor Athouriste has big plans for his church. In 2001, he acquired 6.5 acres of land in Miami, Florida, to house the new church. The Church also recently purchased a one-acre plot of land, the Fraternity Inn, located northeast of the future site of Fraternity Baptist Church.

An active member of the community, Pastor Athouriste proudly plays leadership roles in many issues affecting his followers and the community at large.
